I would accept Warren or Klobuchar or Yang or even Buttigieg as a vp before I'd take Bernie, not b/c Bernie's as old (if not older) than Biden, not b/c Bernie doesn't have a few good ideas (such as the medical stuff, even if he can't find a way to pay for any of it), but b/c of his physical health. There's a legit reason why most presidents' hair goes white after a year or two in office (with the exception of W. and Trump) and that's because of all the stress and pressure they experience day in and day out.

Obviously, and I mean really obviously, the people stocking up on such non-perishables want to isolate themselves so as not to come into contact with others who could potentially be infected. If they run out of TP for example, they'd have to go out and take their chances with the infected. Is that smart? Probably not really, unless they're in their 70s or later, or have weakened immune systems. At least in that case there'd be some semblence of rationality behind their behavior, but I'd at least put their intelligence above those with similar mentalities as the TC here.

Your whole argument is that preventing politicians from being bought is hard so we should just allow them to be bought. There's no difference between the worst case of my scenario and the best case in yours. Other countries do what Bernie proposes, he never proposes anything that hasn't been tried already. The UK and many other first world countries do public elections.

If you allow private contributions the people with the most money have an unfair advantage. Working people should not have to be forced to vote with their hard earned money to compete with billionaires who just empty a little pocket change.

Also note that Bernie wants publicly financed elections, so all this stuff about lobbying (from PACs super PACs or individual donors) is going out the window if we get a constitutional amendment banning private funding of all politicians and mandating public financing. And you can tell he means it because that system didn't benefit him at all getting elected.
