It's great if they make the textures much more detailed, make the games 1080p, and so on. But what if they completely change the look of the games? The use of colour, the type of textures, and things like that?

People keep pointing out, correctly, that the flu kills many people in various countries each year. Do we have exact numbers? For America? For Britain? For the rest of the world? I suppose it is a matter of context, but covid-19 DOES seem quite a lot worse than the flu, and various other types of virus and illness (like pneumonia). covid-19 has already killed many people in Italy, China, and even Britain. Plus, we have flu shots, etc.

Does anyone know this? I'm not saying that people shouldn't be very worried about covid-19, because they should (and be responsible when it comes to being carriers), I'm just curious.

Girl A - Went to secondary school and college with this chick. She used to be a proper Nintendrone (which is fine), and used to play on her N64 a lot. When I was just getting into Goldeneye, she beat me at it. Liked Mario Kart as well, I believe. Quite a good looking girl, with a curvy body, but face was very plain.

Girl B - Used to work with her in a video game store. She had a PS3 and 3DS, I believe. Don't know what exactly she played. She was very pretty, with super-curly hair, and these beautiful hazy eyes. Very short, though. I think she was Italian.

Girl C - Worked with me at the same job as Girl B did. Got the impression she put in plenty of hours a day. She was a Sony fangirl. Sadly, she never played ANYTHING but JRPGs. She honestly didn't seem to like anything else. Plain face, lovely skinny body, straight brown hair.

Girl D - We had psychology class together at college. Another Nintendo bitch, used to have an N64 and possibly Gamecube. We never played together, but I got the impression she was reasonably good at games. Fat and badly dressed. Made up for it with a good personality.

Girl E - I went to primary school, secondary school and college with this girl, but never knew her that well. She was a PC gamer, if memory serves me. Not bad looking, with proto-typical nerd looks, e.g. thick glasses.

To be fair, I would love extra levels to be added in. That would be SO great. They could easily do it for 64 and Galaxy 1, and find some way for Sunshine.

64 and Sunshine would definitely benefit from modern graphics, though.

To say nothing of the sniper class. I assumed the whole point was very high accuracy, but they struggled to kill a target 20 or 50 metres away. Ridiculous.

To me, the game seems to have some serious problems, but it might just be because I'm new to it.

I agree. It was ridiculous. Just Power Moon after Power Moon. Plus, each individual Moon didn't mean as much, simply because there were so many of them. It's like the Koroks in BotW, I felt pleased when I found one, but it didn't MEAN that much. When you got a Shine in Super Mario Sunshine, it felt really good, especially since that game was so tough. Even getting a blue coin felt good, because although there were a lot of them, there weren't almost a thousand, like the Power Moons.

I bought it in 2018, played for a few hours...sorta enjoyed it, but I struggled to get the hang of the gameplay, and didn't get THAT far. What are some basic tips? Bare in mind, I didn't play the first 3 games, like some did, some I'm basically a newbie as VK4. Are there any obvious pitfalls that it is desirable to avoid?

The Wii has Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, to say nothing of NSMBW, so it's okay to release multiple mainline Marios on a modern Nintendo console. This would be easy money for Nintendo, and I would say there's time to get in another Mario game during the Switch's life, assuming it lasts 5 or more years.

Personally, if there is a Super Mario Odyssey 2, I would want the same basic gameplay mechanics as before, but with lots of fun new worlds, and a lot less Power Moons to collect. Maybe a third as many Power Moons. There's such a thing as too much content, and I think SMO proved that.

I can actually imagine this happening, a few decades in the future. Not now, with living veterans of those wars, but...I can't imagine it eventually happening. Or, perhaps, the events of the Wars get heavily distorted. Like, America or Russia were the aggressors in World War 2, or World War 1 only lasted 6 months.

I've been checking up on that game for ages, since last year, and even a week ago, Wikipedia said it had no release date. Then, it comes out on March 26th, right under the radar! Did anyone else notice this?

The strange thing is, it doesn't appear to be out in Europe yet. I expect it'll be out in the next few weeks (I would assume).

What would you want in it?

For me, I'd mostly like it made to 1080p, upgrade the textures a LOT, improve the framerate to 60FPS, and then tweak the gameplay, but only a LITTLE. Mostly remove some of the filler challenges, like in the hub world, and some of the stuff from Gelato Beach and Serena Beach.

I still look back on Pikmin 1, and think how weak it is compared to 2, and especially to 3. It was too purist and unforgiving, to say nothing of only 3 types of Pikmin. Adding in white and purple, then grey and pink was a champion idea.

This is an all fruit then beat the final boss speedrun.

My first speedrun of this type was about 9 hours and 35 minutes; the second speedrun was about 9 hours and 25 minutes; the third speedrun was about 7 hours and 20 minutes. Pretty sweet, huh? I avoided a lot of the stupid mistakes I had previously made, and dreamed up some pretty clever shortcuts and efficient ways of doing things.

This, however, it still probably the hardest game I've ever speedrun. The sheer complexity of the game allows SO many different ways to do a speedrun, but that's what made it seem overwhelming. I'm very pleased with my third speedrun. I do actually feel, between the different Pikmin games, and all the stuff I've accomplished in them, I'm a real Pikmin expert now. Between the three mainline games, I'd say I have about 400 hours. Having said all of THAT, despite the fact I can beat the game in about 7 hours and 20 minutes, the WR (World Record) is actually under 2 hours. Wtf. Shows how much genius some gamers possess, I guess...or, perhaps, the sheer perserverance of them (I can't emphasis this last point enough).

Thoughts on this? Any Pikmin fans on CE in general?

Sonic 1 has some pretty boring zones. Sonic 2 is boring once you get to Hill Top Zone or Mystic Cave Zone. It really could have used a save feature.

Flying Battery - Great
Sandopolis - Average
Lava Reef - Great
Sky Sanctuary - Very Good
Death Egg - Good

Not sure if it's better or worse than Sonic 3, I would have to think about it.

I sorta agree with this. Sandopolis was pretty good fun, though, but Act 2 was definitely the weakest. Exploring in Act 1 was a real joy. The problem with Death Egg was it got long in the tooth. It went on and on.
