The problems of women and black people get a lot of attention despite having greater legal defenses than anybody else. The relevance is that these groups are already actively defended, while I see fuck all defending people in general. To claim a message of general peace is undermining them when they're already elevated over the common man is what makes it particularly egregious. Like a boss saying they can't afford to give you a raise because they want to give themself a big fat bonus.

If your stance is that black people have enough coverage and to focus on other issues instead.. then that's absolutely in direct response to and undermining the movement. Regardless of whether the claim has any validity.

That's kind of an oxymoron; highlighting everything just leaves you with a green book. I get that you're saying it's a general movement of peace, but that doesn't highlight anything. And any other title would have caused less criticism, or at any other time.

I'm not sure how you figured the amount of research or funding was relevant, because it was a very simple analogy.

Something like that's happened to me before too. Once when I got a moderation here, I added a comment and explained that I wasn't actually disputing would accept it. They explained that you couldn't accept a moderation once you dispute it. Then shortly afterward they introduced that feature.

The homunculi feeling like Saturday morning cartoon villains was definitely a flaw in Brotherhood. Some people lived and died with no character depth at all. The original show tried to humanize nearly everyone, except maybe Gluttony and Kimbley.

The first show's problem was that the plot started falling apart near the end. When it first started to deviate from the manga, it was still good. Alphonse being turned into a Philosopher's Stone was very interesting. But then you get all these weird plot twists, and the true antagonist comes out of nowhere. But while it made questionable decisions, it still handled those decisions very well. The endings (show and movie) stayed in keeping with the show's major themes of sin, atonement, and sacrifice for a greater good.

Brotherhood's ending was nice, but too safe. Considering everything that's happened in the series, I feel like most people got off too easy.

What bothered me the most was the way everyone turned on the original anime when Brotherhood came out. The first show was lauded as one of the best anime ever, then once Brotherhood came everyone pulled a 180, saying Brotherhood was perfect and 2003 was crap (past the shared material, which everyone agrees was better the first time). That passion seems to be cooling down lately, and more people are appreciating the differences between the two now.

That's without even getting into what a red flag it is for a game to trade on sex appeal, because it's often a sign that it offers little to nothing else.

I don't care for that mentality. There's no reason that a game can't be good and also heavily feature sex appeal, and a lot of games I like do.

Trigun, half because I didn't see it coming, and half just because it was a damn good scene.

One character's death in Legend of Dragoon wasn't particularly bad, but somehow the real parting scene between them and the protagonist hit me pretty hard.

There are several DBZ movies I still haven't seen yet. The original Broly movie is awesome, but the others get progressively worse. I think Fusion Reborn was the one with Janemba; that one was really cool and weird. I don't remember much about Wrath of the Dragon. Haven't seen the others.

On Monday I got Smallville seasons 9 & 10. Just need to get 8 for a complete collection.

Maybe the different culture is a factor, but as far as the Japanese music I listen to, I'd say at least 70 percent of the artists are female. And that's multiple genres; rock/alt rock, pop, R&B, etc.

I actually had to make a point to try more male artists.

I love both shows, but I prefer the original anime over Brotherhood. They both have flaws and things that make them great, but they approach the story in different ways. Brotherhood is more plot and action focused, and the 2003 show is more of a human drama focused on emotion.

Yes, but I haven't regularly gone in a long time. I think currently I'm somewhere between Christian and agnostic, but leaning toward Christian.

I've had lots examples of both the good and bad kinds of Christians, so I know not to judge anyone solely on their religion or lack thereof. My current pastor is one of the best guys I've ever known, always willing to go above and beyond for anyone.
