So you disregard getting results. I mean didn't China say they're on the mend? Meanwhile because of our rights we had idiots running to the beach and our problem continues.

Again, tough choice. I'm not saying I WANT to be like this. It is worth a temporary sacrifice of rights to squash this a little quicker? In a way I'm lucky, sitting home through the winter is what I do anyway so this isn't a drastic change for me other than having less work this time of year.

I am all for people working, and I even think a majority of people should work. I have often said we should swiich to a system that is less than 40 hours a week though, but ensure a larger % of Americans have jobs/work. The point though is that a very small % of Americans could ensure that every american has an extra 10k a year, and it would't hurt them at all. How about if you work 24 hours a week or more, you get a 10k a year bonus from the top 400 richest americans (wouldn't hurt em at all).

Even if min wage was still only $10 an hour at that point, and you weremaking so little you didn't pay taxes (that would be $240 a week before taxes, less then $1k a month or 12k a year), because of the extra 10k, you would still have almost 2k a month that way (and you don't pay taxes on the 10k). Literally everyone would be able to afford an apartment, food, and hopefully we would deal with healthcare so that would be affoodaale as well (except it would knock a few of those billion ares down a few pegs lol).

The point though is that the top 400 Americans make enough to actually support 30% of the population, comfortably, all by themelves and not even lose money in the process, they just wouldn't gain money based on their current wealth (they could still gain it from any buisinesses etc they have).

What I'm saying is that as long as they can keep finding handouts they won't be wiling to work. Or look at it from the other side. Someone wants to support the bottom 50%. Now money is coming out of your paycheck to fund the lazy. This idea doesn't sit well with me. I know what you're thinking, no they aren't all lazy. A few bad eggs spoil it for all.

Taxes suck but they're sorta necessary. Who picks up that bill? Oh and the wealthy aren't exactly keeping their cash in the US. Tax them enough and they're outta here. Then what...

To put that in perspective, the top 400 people in this country could take the interest their money makes every year (going conservitively) and by themselves pay the poorest 30% of this country (96 million americans), $31,250 a year.

They wouldn't lose money mind you, they just wouldn't be making any money off it, so they would go negative by whatever they spend (but since the lowest of em have like 3 billion, it would take them multiple lifetimes to spend enough to matter unless they were blowing insane amounts).

The top 400 wealthiest americans can afford to support 30% of the population in a comfortable lifestyle just on the interest they make each year, forget about the entire top 1%.

I'll start with corporations aren't good. Still it's not cool to beg for handouts off someone else's work. I see folks on corners with 'help me' signs while they're holding smartphones and scratchie tickets. They're too lazy. So we can't say the lowest part of the population needs it even if that includes the disadvantaged. They prey on those who think they're helping someone.

If you want a good life you have to put in the effort. This is a fact. No blaming anyone else. If you have to pick fruit, serve food, or pack Amazon boxes so be it. Don't pretend there isn't work. If you think college is necessary be prepared to pay for it.

This, it is a myth that we all buy into and believe. It is pretty sad reality when money is considered more important than people's lives. Is this really the type of society we want to live in? I understand that is the society we live, but maybe we should reconsider after this, we won't, but we probably should.

They're very intertwined. You can stay home for your health but if you can't afford food and housing are you that much better off? They're walking a fine line as far as what to open with the least risk to slowly inch towards normal again. Gotta start lifting their mood.

Yeah the fact that common things like sore throat are a symptom, I'm certain a lot of people are panicking over it and rushing for testing. Hopefully there's other criteria so they know who actually needs the test. What's more, say you take the test and it's positive. They're only going to suggest the same thing you should have been doing all along - quarantine.

I tell ya, it was nice for 5 minutes to see something non-political being discussed. Now I'm tired of this too.

There are enough jobs that require a degree. And if its in a field you enjoy, it makes sense. While there are jobs you can get going to trade school, those are limited, as well... If everyone tried to go for that, then the same thing would happen. Too many people went and nowhere near enough jobs.

As for automation, we just arent there yet. They may make them to do more specific tasks. They also may have a way to control it without leaving the office... Depending on the house and stuff. But its possible they dont. But with the way technology is, it could be possible in the future...

I think more do not and those jobs will always have demand, whether you work for someone or start your own business. Landscaping, roofing, waste management, not sure if you need more than training for firefighting. The problem is they don't want hard work. My field isn't exactly bursting with volunteers. Not to imply degrees are bad if you have something to aim for. Going to college 'just because' is a recipe for debt.

Really, what would be the point? Trying to automate plumbing for example, it's not an unsafe job and would require more work to program than to send a person. Look at the years they're putting into self driving cars. You can't predict every possible situation.

Moral of the story is there's a ton of work out there that will exist for years. Newcomers can't be afraid to get dirty, break a sweat.

It's a safe bet they won't. Automation works for repetitive tasks. Not things that require problem solving or frequent moving. It's a terrible thing that so many kids assume college is necessary only to find out it was a pointless study or no jobs are available. It's not feasible to automate everything.

No they weren't. Early on there were restrictions on travel from abroad but no where near the necessary precautions, even now.

And there has been state-to-state restrictions put in place, but until very recently much of it was closer to recommendations than actual restrictions ("Please stay home unless absolutely necessary"). Massachusetts only placed restrictions about a week ago closing restaurants and schools, and just today declared all non-essential personnel stay home.

Enh, not really. There are plenty of jobs, mostly hands-on kinds of things that automation can never replace. Plumbing, construction, mechanics, etc.

It wasn't here in Jan. They told people what was going on but the public didn't listen until recently. The gov't only has so much power and people as we see don't always follow along. Then they'll blame the gov't because they still haven't finished bashing poor Trump.

Yes there is. Testing supplies are limited right? Early detection for those at risk is better than using them on the jerks who deserve it by not staying home. Logically they probably wouldn't have caught it otherwise. They're a big reason why it's not contained and growing in the younger age ranges.

This was my first VR full game. It's a good game to test the waters with. VR Worlds is also great for testing it with for anyone who is interested. Those games where the movement of the player themselves is limited are always best to start with.

Worlds is pretty tame so yeah. Rush has the coaster element to it so it would make a good test for motion sickness. Eagle Flight is a gentle game, only a few spots where you fly fast. Moss doesn't require the player to move. You're essentially controlling a character in a diorama. Trust me it's not as boring as it sounds.

Trying to think what else I've tried, I mix VR in between my regular games. I've plenty more on the backlog like Rigs, Sairento, Inpatient, To the Top, and I'd love to finally try Beat Saber if it ever drops in price. It's weird that many say they got rid of it due to lack of content or whatever. There's plenty if you look.

I never experienced this thankfully. After reading the horror stories on the internet I was reluctant in trying Skyrim VR and yet I was fine with it. That was even with full movement turned on and no blinkers.

It's really a case by case situation. Like I said only Doom was weird for me and I've played a few other games that had faster gameplay. Warzone was a flight game. Rush of Blood had you seated as you ride. Battlezone had a lot of strafing. Thumper was quite flashy. Does it help to have an anchor point like a cockpit? Maybe it's just moving backwards that doesn't sit well. Not sure anyone has done research on it.

Anyone trying VR needs to test different games and options before giving up. I think it's a great new method for gaming. Like moving into 3D there's all sorts of new things we can do.

Yep, PSVR and I still use it. Played through a number of games already and the only one I had to take breaks with was Doom VFR because it was pretty fast paced. I'm actually playing Blood and Truth now.

Moss, Headmaster, Eve Warzone, Trover, Astro Bot... I say RE7 is the killer app.
