Rogue one has sorta actually become the favorite Disney Star Wars of a lot of people as the sequel trilogy films have faltered. I thought the first half was kind of a drag but the last act was awesome. For a series called Star Wars, Rogue One felt the most like a war film. Also I was pleasantly surprised they killed everyone, did not seem like a Disney kind of thing to do but it made sense in the story so I commend them for that.

Financially obviously a success but as far as story telling Im inclined to say they didnt do great. Rather than tel a new exciting story, they basically just said oh they didnt finish the job in the originals so were gonna do that for real this time. Its just a tad lazy.

It was solid. I just wish they cut some stuff out or added a few minutes to the film. It just seems to run really fast. Kylo sacrificing himself is supposed to be played off as a huge emotional beat but instead of giving it time to breathe, the movie is over literally 5 minutes later and nobody mentions him again

It was definitely enough to bother me. Force Awakens was also a JJ movie and it was basically a single fetch quest. Skywalker feels like 5 or 6 different fetch quests thrown into just the 1st half of the movie. The pacing was frantic

The pacing was very frantic. Felt like a return of the king amount of stuff to happen but without the benefit of a 3:20 run time. For 2:20 or whatever it felt stuffed

The rapidly changing fetch quest nature of the 1st half of the movie felt rushed considering TFA in its entirety was basically a singular fetch quest. Rey rage quits to the planet from TLJ and is convinced to go back in like 2 minutes. The one that really annoyed me was that kylo dying should have been given a chance to breath. But the movie is legit over like 5 minutes later and hes never even mentioned again.

Gonna watch it as a Star Wars fan but Im not overly hyped or anything. I really didnt like that 7 was a rehash of 4. And while TLJ wasnt perfect I liked that it took chances and wasnt afraid to tell a different story or change the story we thought we knew. But now JJ is back and the cast and JJ himself have been kinda trashing the subverting expectations thing that TLJ did so you just know TROS is gonna be so freaking cookie cutter. Like if you dont intend on telling a new story, then whats the point of any of this?

Honestly I think if Rose didnt save him and he did sacrifice himself on the salt planet or whatever, it wouldve given him a nice little arc. The guy who wanted to run away in TFA, and ran away (admittedly to find Rey) to start TLJ, running straight at a problem knowing itll be his death, to give the resistance a chance, it wouldve been a little something. Certainly better than what he actually got in the film.

4 is better than 5 in my book. 4 did the morally grey thing really well. Yeah Walt blew up Gus, but he did it in a freaking nursing home, probably not giving a crap about any potential collateral damage done to innocents.

Meanwhile the 5 finale Walt is just gunning down Neo Nazis. Theres no morally grey there. Just a dude taking out some of the scummiest people imaginable.

Healthy food is expensive
A lot of jobs are sedentary so not much exercise just doing your job
The country is so car-centric that walking and biking for commutes or leisure isnt really much of a thing.
A lot of the country has long cold winters that make outdoor exercise difficult. A lot of the other part of the country has grossly hot and humid summers

Something I do feel gets lost in the film that annoys me is that everyone is so caught up in oh my god they ruined Lukes character, I feel like we dont mention that Hamill was awesome in the movie. Whether you liked the character arc or not, he acted the hell out of it.

I just want some continuity. TFA makes getting to luke the climax of the film and its a really dramatic moment. TLJ uses the very same scene for laughs with the lightsaber toss. TLJ then has the past dying as a very strong thematic theme, and the TROS is bringing back the emperor for whatever god damn reason. Nobody wanted him and it really kinda brings into question Anakin and his role as the chosen one. If he didnt kill the emperor than what did he really do?

Its really gonna come down to personal preference for most people since theyre both 10/10s

For me, Fellowship edges it out. The Shire and really all of middle earth felt so real. It had a lot of characters to introduce and it made them feel like actual people rather than just like fellowship member #7. The tonal shifts are really something going from happy and merry to an epic adventure, to grief, and to end with optimism and friendship. The movie is an adventure from start to finish and for me it eeks out Return for best of the series

I still think TLJ is fine as a stand-alone. As a sequel to VII, it kind of misses the mark. The whole sequel trilogy just has no continuity.

7 is all about getting to Luke, its played as as a huge dramatic moment. 8 then uses the moment for laughs by having luke toss the saber. Then the theme of 8 is letting the past die. And what do we have in episode 9? Surprise were bringing back the emperor, because of reasons. Like what is the long term vision for this trilogy?

Markarth is my favorite. The architecture and geography are really quite beautiful. The quests are unique and pretty deep and well developed.

Mind you Id never want to live there if I was actually in the game. Forsworn, corruption, a haunted house, and cannibals makes for a fun game, also makes it a very crappy place to actually live. And the stairs would honestly kill your knees real fast.

Its been like four months for me. I relate to the feel. Finished undergrad last spring and Im an introvert that also doesnt look great or anything, but getting laid in college really wasnt that hard if you put a little effort into it, so I had my fair share of fun there. Ive been dry ever since though. I start grad school spring semester and I get theres a lot more school work involved there, but maybe I get a little more action there.
