My single mom worked overnights so she was (or felt like she was) pretty incapable of punishing me since she was gone when I was home. I managed to be mischievous without punishment, tbh. The benefit of essentially raising myself, I suppose.

I don't like raw onions, but caramelized onions and onion rings go well on a burger.

I voted for tomatoes as most fast food places provide pale tomatoes that do nothing but make the bun soggy. Gross!

But we do get a $10 bonus for every month we don't call out sick, $50 for a quarter without a callout (Jan-March, April-June, etc.) and $200 for a year without a callout (I should be getting my third yearly bonus for this soon) as I've now worked here four years and only called out once.

This doesn't seem like a good idea. It just promotes coming into work sick and then getting everybody else sick.

Those bonuses are super small too. I didn't miss a day this month. Thanks for filling a quarter of my gas tank *eye roll*

The bonuses are quite small. If you max out all the bonuses for a year, you have made $0.25 an hour more for the year. That's it, but at the same time, it's better than nothing (like all my previous jobs have done for perfect attendance).

Fortunately, I only get sick once every few years, and it's usually only for a few hours (stomach flu). I seem to be in the minority, but I don't think a cold is a very good reason to call out (at least in my situation at a call center in which I don't speak to customers). I can do my work just fine with a cold.

I prefer whichever has the shortest line, which is usually (but not always) the self-checkout. But I don't use self-checkout if I am making a large shopping trip.

why not? it ain't hard at all to use the uscan to check out when you have a lot of items.

In some of the grocery stores in my area, the bagging area is very small and just doesn't really accommodate more than a couple of bags. I realize this isn't a problem everywhere, for instance, when I go to California where they refuse to supply bags, but here it can be. But I'm usually of the "Get in. Get out." mentality.

Every time I have my blood drawn, I get faint and as a child (the first time I remember having my blood drawn) I fainted completely. I also may have fainted after breaking my arm, not because of the pain but the shock of seeing my arm out of place. Not completely sure about that though. I put my head down on the counter and I heard sirens from the ambulance almost immediately. They had a 30 second response time so I'm not sure if I lost consciousness or not.

If you feel you wouldn't be as happy in the position, don't apply for it. Companies need good people at the bottom as well.

Well, here in Las Vegas I'm always going to answer this question the same way, far too long. It is also far from over, it's going to be at least 109 every day through Sunday, September 1st, and summer usually continues until at least mid-October here. Heck, waiting outside on Black Friday a couple years ago was miserably hot and everyone was sweating, it was still in the 90's even then.

Seriously though, I don't think they make "shit" flavor.

I guess I and my social surroundings have always been what is referred to now as "old-fashioned" because being a man, I believe I have paid for every date I have been on, regardless of who's idea it was. I should add that paying was never discussed, it was something I was expected to do as the man, and I had/have no problem with that whatsoever. I'm also probably slightly older than most people here, but not dramatically so.

I didn't either TC. Only serious relationship I've ever had is with my now-current wife, whom I met when I was 25 and couldn't possibly love more.

My story is very similar. Never had a girlfriend until I was 26, and I've now been married to her for over eleven years.

I feel like just putting myself in a social situation with others close to my age day after day helped a lot. I made a lot of friends, and eventually found someone I will always love and cherish. Even though I know I lack a little in social skills and certainly have absolutely no game whatsoever. I believe there is always hope for everyone who is interested in finding love.
