It depends on your phone, mostly. I habitually walk in place while watching shows, etc., and my main phone counts it as Adventure Sync distance. But my old phone (for my alt) doesn't.

I walked past a glacial lure with a Cryogonal in it. Perhaps just luck? I assumed they'd be common in this event.

These games probably has more Pokmon available before the first gym than anything before. That's a plus for sure.

Got to Route 6 and the first Pokemon I encountered was an Axew, which of course I killed accidentally. Then later on I ran from a Trapinch.

Axew 5% spawn rate, Trapinch 1%

I found none of the tar encounters that you find in the overworld too much of an issue. You can change the spawns quickly.

I loved Rogue One from start to finish. Partly because I went in knowing nothing, expected nothing, and then I was blown away by the last hour of it in particular. That probably ranks high for me.

I was probably a bit to young to see some of the obvious flaws in the prequels when I first saw them, but even now I don't really dislike them because they all have somethings going on for them. Even if what AotC has going on is that there are so many jedi I like from sidestories and what not that are there briefly. McGregor also hardcarries those movies, of course.

I see several sites using the phrase "for some reason", but it was the exact same thing they did for Obi-Wan's line in TFA. It's because they wanted Sir Alec Guinness, but seeing as he's dead, they use his voice to say "Rey", which is taken from some old line where he says "afraid". Then McGregor says the rest of the line.

I think the biggest issue of the trilogy is how the direction changed each movie. The first part of this movie was insanely rushed because they wanted to set up something entirely different from what TLJ did and a lot of things in the movie really needed more build-up, everything was so sudden.

Dynamax seems to work well in competitive Doubles. However, I've heard it's completely busted in Singles.

It is. Ditto is being used on every third team or so now, more than almost everything else.

I miss the Rotom Dex talking to me. I'd take the Rotom Dex 100000 times more than Hop showing up every 10 seconds.

I didn't like Hop either, but I think the key differnece is that he wasn't there constantly when I wasn't story progressing. When you like to spend 60-70 hours on the game, that becomes a huge difference.

Nice breakdown, ctes - I think our feelings on the game are quite similar. I also wasn't fond of Bede, and I'm surprised at how much praise that character received; I couldn't stand him, personally. (I also hated Silver in Gen II, for similar reasons.)

I actually don't mind the raid CPUs. Light Screen and Reflect are a godsend for making them viable partners. I swear at them far less than the damn Digging Duo... >_>

Thanks! Yeah, seems like it. Bede was super flat and annoying most of all. I had no issue with Silver back in the day, probably because characters just made less of an impression, but I liked the idea even if he'd probably have disappointed a bit today.

I suppose you've been more lucky with partners. Maractus using Solar Beam is one of the better things I have gotten and it breaks a shield only every other turn of it's not dead before that.

The music pumping up when the opponent is Dynamaxing it's Pokemon, the Switch rumbling (in Handheld mode) and the absurd animations - they all made the battle more epic

I enjoy it in raids and in the spoiler tag part, but in gym battles it was a lot more time consuming than fun imo. It could have been better without changing any mechanics, though overall I'm still no fan. But as I said, it was probably controversial and it's not bad enough for me to be sad about if I'm the minority.

Please say this isn't true. It was my biggest issue last time by far.

Hopefully they have at least improved things such as it not asking you to save two seconds after you just did. Maybe being able to turn off it asking you for photos.

Thoughts? I know you weren't keen on him winning in Kalos, is this any better?

I haven't actually seen it yet other than from the numerous memes and articles, because I'm not caught up with the anime as SM in general has not been as good imo.

Back in Kalis it had a lot to do with Ash Greninja, which screamed generic shounen anime that felt like it didn't belong in Pokmon despite the games later welcoming it as well.

It also had a lot to do with the build up. In Sinnoh, it genuinely felt to the viewer like he was the best he's ever been and there's some part of me that thinks "if Sinnoh Ash couldn't win, why should Kalos Ash be able to". It was a weaker team overall, Ash himself felt less competent. Of course, you could counter argue that maybe the Sinnoh league was just stronger, I mean Tobias is the strongest person to ever appear, but even so, I wanted Ash to win when he felt most competent.

It's probably too much to expect from a semirebooting children's anime, they'll likely never go back to how they did things back in Sinnoh,but they made it work back then, so it can be done. They'd rather have him begin from scratch every time. And seemingly they'll rather use filler episodes on lol stuff than Ash training, so most evolutions and wins feel unsatisfying and undeserved.

As for this time, well, I really doubt they made any of this a single bit better from where I am, but with how much people complained it Kalos, I'm not all too surprised.

I get other people being mad (collectors, serious battlers, etc.), but I think it's fixed if Home is not just a rotbox but, like, a canonical place where you can battle and do stuff with your pokemon.

I think this is the important point for me. I'm a bit sad because of competitive play, but it wont damge my enjoyment of the games themselves slightly.

But that's only if Home is not a rotbox you're paying to use, and that's not something I'm expecting.

Other fun fact: The Hitmon family hasn't been in a regional dex since GSC. It's been obtainable in other games of course, but only in post-games.

If people want an idea of how rare this is. The other ones are only the Venonat, Krabby, Omanyte and Kabuto families as well as Mew. The Meowth family surprisingly also joins this if the Alolan versions are not counted.

Just for more Pokedex stuff: only the Zubat, Psyduck and Magnemite families have been in every regional dex (although Magnemite was not in the initial Sinnoh dex like the other two and none were in the initial Unova dex as that only had gen 5 Pokemon)

I'm disappointed as well, even if I hate to admit it. The best argument is probably that it does not feel like we get anything in return really. It seems there will be less Pokemon in Sword and Shield than last gen had. On top of that they're apparently cutting Megas and Z-moves.
Dynamax and raid battles are some new features, but we always had some new features. The Switch is stronger than the 3DS. There needs to be something that makes up for it, it needs to feel worth it.

I also fear for what this does to competitive Pokemom.

I can't see DQ11 Hero without thinking of Android 17. Not my preferred hero to be in front, but it's okay.

I think having played the first will make you appreciate TTYD more, the first is good, and if playing both it makes sense in that order.

It is possible to jumo straight into TTYD, but it would be a shame to miss oit on the first.

Detective Pikachu spoilers.
Did they say what experiment was being done on the Greninja? If they aren't Protean their Dark type should have protected them from Psyduck's Psychic attacks.

I talked about this in some other topic as I thought about it too. Movie mentions nothing about abilities, but it can be explained by Protean as they had all used Water Shuriken and therefore I'm fine with it.

Brawl had just had more and better unique things than SSB4 when comparing them to Ultimate. People remember SSE way better than Smash Tour/Run. Probably has a way higher playrate too.
