They chat for a few but my mom notices the whole time the guy has the camera on me. So my mom & Bonnie dont say anything to him about who i am. My mom tells the security guy to "watch this, ill get him", walks over to me, looks at the camera, then hugs me and mouths to the camera "this is my son".

Dude was fired 5 minutes later for the shit he saying while my mom & Bonnie were standing there with him. Apparently he was the only 1 in the whole place that didn't know that information.

We're temporarily in another state for medical training. its a total of 3 years. We both (myself and my in-laws) know that the ONLY option is to sell after 3 years because we can't manage a property from across the country. Even if we break even, it saves us a whole bunch of rent money, specifically 30k worth.

My point is, these rough estimates dont take into account extra taxes, insurance costs, etc that all come into play being a home owner. I'd estimate the actual net savings are closer to 20k over 3 years. And thats how much my Take home pay will be in 1 month of working as a specialist physician, after these 3 years.

Also, I just dont feel comfortable accepting that much of a gift, but thats something my wife understands but my in-laws dont really understand. Its because they are doing the same thing for their other daughter because they were financially struggling, so they bought them the house and they pay them rent which is basically the mortgage, they dont profit from it.

Yea I agree the savings won't be too great, so I'd probably encourage the first option.

I bought my house knowing I'd likely only be in this area for a few years as well, but the region (seattle) has been solidly booming so I feel pretty good about it. Also, not sure if I will rent or sell but you can hire a property manager for long distances. Itll skim some profit but if you've already taken 40k out of a 200k mortgage then you should be set really well
