With the exception of God of War, all of my favorite PlayStation franchises are either dead or multi-platform, and even if they were revived or kept on Sony systems, what matters to me most are the controller (since, you know, I will be playing every game with it) and all things online (services/infrastructure/reliability/etc). Xbox, to me, is leaps and bounds above, PlayStation in those areas. I tend to buy each system (not each iteration within system) from Microsoft/Nintendo/PlayStation, but if I had to skip one, it would definitely be PlayStation.

Last year, ran into some issues where some gift selections were unavailable due to currency exchange.

I forget who I helped last year, but a workaround is to send a digital gift card for X amount of money to cover the purchase to Y user in the same region as Z user you drew and Y user buy and send the games on your behalf to Z user.

I would be willing to do that again this year if need be.

This was my first kickstarter backing, and I played through the original campaign in...*checks notes*...August of 2015. I have since bought a second copy to support Yacht Club, but I haven't gone back to play any of the expansions. Maybe I should rectify that.

I actually just wrapped that one up within the past week or so. Obviously the puzzle mechanics are wholly unique to each game, but I can see some similarities between the two. The Talos Principle is a more challenging game, has a difficulty curve, and it is mostly open-world. Also, the puzzle areas in Turing tend to be larger and have multiple rooms while Talos is typically one giant, open area with various walls and obstacles impeding your progress.

It is an excellent and thought-provoking first-person puzzle game made by the team behind Serious Sam. What I mean by thought-provoking is that the plot and setting are based on existentialism. If that isn't your cup of tea, you can tune that stuff out and focus on the awesome puzzles!

All of my Game Pass time has been spent on XB1, but I have downloaded the client and maybe a game or two from the PC version.

Looking at a list of PC Game Pass games, I highly recommend the following games:

• The Gardens Between
• The Talos Principle
• Battle Chef Brigade
• Forza Horizon 4
• Halo: Master Chief Collection (might not be a complete PC version right now?)
• Minit
• Ori and the Blind Forest (you already said you downloaded this though)
• Orwell: Keeping An Eye On You

Gardens, Talos, and Minit are super high recommends

Yeah, my first skull room began with a bunch of hallways with turrets and robot spiders galore. The second began with extensive wall-running with snipers at the end of each wall. I think that I may try out ranked and rush mode, then I will call it quits for the month.

KCF has beaten Super Cloudbuilt

I beat all four wings, and since an achievement popped up with the name "The Truth Revealed?" I am considering it beaten.

The hardest non-skull level for me was Redeployment. I had 57 lives, which includes the seven I manual checkpoints give. It was challenging from start to finish, but I still had 50+ by the time I reached the upward spiral section that has you avoid the red and purple traps while wall-running, wall-climbing, and wall-jumping that turns into the straight section with various turrets shooting at you, which culminates in more red and purple traps as you head upwards and into a wall-jump backwards to the finish. I beat it with my second-to-last life. That was intense!

Since all the mechanics are fresh in my mind, I plan on attempting the skull levels at any rate. I finally looked at all these things I accumulated, and some of them seem to be helpful, such as a weapon that can slow down time and gear that increased my boost meter. I haven't tried them out yet, but maybe they will make the skull levels beatable for me.

Anyway, I had a blast with this game. It was a challenging game done right. I think that the game could have been better without the weapons/combat, but I know that would change the whole dynamic of the game. The only thing that I really question is the inclusion of lives. The game was already very challenging in its own right. Why even add a lives system? That just seems like overkill to me.

Super Cloudbuilt (PS4)

A lot of the genres that I like being challenged in (racing, platforming, action, puzzle) tend to not put out a lot of games that are both challenging and fun/enjoyable (whether it be because of needlessly punishing the player, questionable design choices or straight up flaws, or messing up AI). It's why I typically avoid games that bill themselves as being difficult. If more of those kinds of games were like Super Cloudbuilt, I would not have such predisposed negative feelings toward them.
