Yeah, this kind of feels like the Bloodborne equivalent of after you beat Amelia and have a ton of options and freedom on what to do next: Hemwick (okay technically you can do this earlier), Forbidden Woods, Return to the Clinic, Hypogean Gaol, Cainhurst, Nightmare Frontier, etc.

The snakes still terrify me. Everything about them. But wooded areas are my second favorite area archetype after abandoned snowy castles.

Those are all routes that you can explore, sure, and one of the wonders of the game is being able to progress through in basically any manner. If one area gives you trouble, just go in a different direction and see what you can do.

The forest is easily one of my favorite areas in the game.

Yeah, the difficulty curve is really strange. It spikes a bit at the beginning of the time skip (and at least for GD, a little bit on the last few levels) but it never really approaches what it was like for the first few levels of the game outside of a couple paralogues.

That's probably because if you do paralogues and have any of the exp +5% statue bonuses, you'll be overlevelled a lot.

To clarify, i agree that managing trade offs and debating cost benefit analyses is one of the jobs of government. My comment is directed more towards the "should" vs "does" dynamic, and the assertion that if a position was fully positive then it would already be policy. One party doesn't agree on underlying facts, and people generally dislike change. Take those two things with the fact that cost benefit analysis in politics almost always focuses only in costs, and you have the situation we're at today.

Wait I thought Seiros invented crests.

Golden Deer story basically says that the crests are all from enemies of the goddess. I rationalized it for myself along the lines of, the crests were too widespread for the church to remove from Fodlan without causing a huge uprising, so they incorporated the crests into their own mythos in order to avoid killing tons of people while also placing the church as "above" the nobility.

There is a reason to bring up Zoe when she provided the spark. She seemed to know the timing was bad, that he wasn't doing well, but that didn't faze her. So yes I do have an issue with both her and "cancel" culture. I think she knows what she's doing and wants to play the 'innocent victim' to such an extent that it should raise some eyebrows. There's a very good chance she knows the power she has in the gaming world and relishes the chance to wield it.
