Every story Ive heard about Vic just sounds like hes one of those weird dudes who gets too personal because they think its friendly and doesnt understand boundaries. Its creepy, but if thats the worst theyve got on him then idk what the issue is.

If you believe the testimony, then it's not the worst he did. Multiple people have come forward about his sexually harassing conduct.

Here are the facts:

1. An internal investigation into Vic's conduct was done by Funimation after several public accusations of sexual harassment were made.

2. After this investigation, they decided to fire him.

That's all we know for 100% sure. Much of this case is testimony, and sure, none of it proves beyond reasonable doubt that he's guilty of any crimes, but that's not necessary for a company to fire him.

That's why there are people on his defense. There's no smoking gun. Sure there are pictures of him at conventions, but none of them are admissible proof of misconduct. One has to rely on the testimony of the people involved.

The reason why kickvic gained as much traction as it did is because Vic's conduct in conventions and otherwise has been a long-standing rumor and gossip for almost a good decade. As has been said, there have been blogs about interactions with the man, and it has been considered to be the anime convention circuit's worst kept secret.

It's basically about whether you believe multiple women or one man. And hey, no one wants to believe a person can be bad, but patterns exist for a reason.

Youre being deliberately obtuse. An egg by itself has no way of becoming a human, and a period is a natural human process of biology. A fetus will literally turn into a full functioning baby, but is being killed simply because some people are irresponsible.

A fetus by itself will not turn into a full functioning baby. It requires the mother to nourish.

Now who's being deliberately obtuse.

Your whole argument hinges on you defining where life begins. Tell me where you believe life begins and why.

I'm not in the "clump of cells" or "parasite" camp. Abortion is ending, at the very least, a potential life, and I don't dispute this.

Of course, menstruation is also ending a potential life.

A period is not a fetus. Idk why you think that is a good argument.

If you suggest a fetus is a living baby, then who are you to tell me an egg is not also alive?

Saying something over and over doesn't suddenly make it true.

It is literally how Roe v. Wade was constructed. It is true both from a legal and a scientific standpoint. Start there rather than claiming some knowledge about "where life begins".

karlpilkington4 posted...
The fetus will turn into a full fledged human if left alone

Another lie.

It's not being left alone. The mother's body is actively working to nourish and develop it. You cannot take a fetus out of the body and put it in a box and expect it to develop into an infant unless it is already viable.

You skipped a key point of what I said.

What I wish is that everyone I know and love could afford the same health and comfort that I have, which for many, they can't.

Everyone. Not just the person I married and my children. Everyone.

Sure, you got yours, but what about others in your life? You probably don't have enough to care for everyone, but you know who does?

If you don't care about everyone else, at least be honest with that.

I've said it in other topics, but viability is key to the whole issue. Not some arbitrary point where someone has defined "where life begins". If the fetus is viable, you can't get an abortion unless the mother's health is at risk. If it's not, then the choice to go through with the pregnancy is the mother's.

Crypt of the Necrodancer is an indie game by Brace Yourself Games. It's a cross between a rhythm game and a roguelike dungeon crawler. Procedurally generated dungeons that get progressively more difficult and you have to find the majority of your equipment within the dungeon itself.

The hook is that everything has to be done on the beat of the music. Movement, attacks, using items and spells. They all have to be done in time with the tunes, or else you fail at whatever you're trying to do.

Well how about the fantasy that you subscribe to, sir?

Tell me what the ex Mrs. Bezos (is she going to be known by that forever by the way?) can do with 18 billion that she can't do with 370 million.

Every praise for her donation of 18 billion crashes against the reality that she still retains 18 billion. Enough money to put her in the top 50 wealthiest people in the world. Not top million. Not top thousand. Top fifty.

It goes back to the true fantasy: the idolizing of the rich that this country is so fond of: Wow, look at all the money they have. They must be a gooooood person to have all that money. God rewards the virtuous with wealth beyond their dreams, says the Prosperity Gospel. And they're donating! Look at such blessed people they are that they can have all this money and give a portion of it to us. What goooood people they are to bless us peons with their wealth. And because I believe wholeheartedly in capitalism, surely my time will come where I will be blessed with wealth and can take my place at their side with all the wealthy good. My time will come if I just believe.

Guess what. Just because you subscribe to that, just because the desire to be rich burns within you, doesn't mean everyone thinks the same. I don't care if I don't see a red cent of what she donates. I live with enough to keep me healthy and comfortable, and I wouldn't know what to do with such an excess. Wealth is not what drives me. What I wish is that everyone I know and love could afford the same health and comfort that I have, which for many, they can't.

The increasing wealth gap is my evidence that no individual should control that much money, and if she truly cared so little about the money that she was getting from her divorce, then why is she keeping enough of it to rank in the top fifty wealthiest people?

Hell, at the end of the day, she can still do whatever she wants with her money. I'm not going for "eat the rich" at this time. The point of my posts is about the smokescreen of virtue that's being put up over this. I'm not denying that 18 billion going to charity is a good thing. I said it was good in my very first post. I'm just shining that light behind the smokescreen to the reality behind the fantasy of a "virtuous rich person".

It's not about "percentage of wealth". It's about excess. It's about extravagance.

A billion dollars in the control of a single individual is extravagant, and I don't think any claims of jealousy can convince me otherwise.

50% is good. 99% is better.

Oh and here's a hard reality for you.

You will never get there.

"Missouri disagrees" wasn't an argument. It was a fact. But go ahead and appeal to emotion. It's never worked for you before, but who knows, the 15th time is a charm.

Banning abortion is basically the definition of appealing to emotion. Abortion, or rather it being an option, has tangible benefits to society. What do we gain from hundreds of thousands of children being born to unsuitable parents? That's more poverty, more neglect, more abuse, more orphans. Best to nip it in the bud while the woman still has control. It's logical and I'd even say it's the ethical thing to not force any pregnancy that isn't wanted. You need to look at the big picture. It doesn't help that the same states hellbent on banning abortion clutch their pearls at the thought of sex ed beyond "Don't have sex if you're not a married couple attempting to procreate".

I mean there's an even simpler way to take it.

There are literally hundreds of eggs in every single woman. That's hundreds of potential lives that don't get seen to birth. The body aborts them all on its own.

The typical response is that life begins at fertilization, and my question to that is... why? Who defined that? The answer is "people who wanted to define it that way", which is to say that defining life at fertilization is entirely arbitrary. The fertilized egg is entirely dependent on the mother to nourish it. It absolutely cannot grow on its own. If you want to call it "life", that's your business, but it is absolutely without a doubt not "viable".

Viability is at the center of the abortion argument as far as the law is concerned, because Roe v. Wade very specifically tried to avoid defining "life" as they felt (and rightly so) that they were not in a place to make that judgment. This is why abortions in the third trimester are not allowed except at the peril of the mother's life.

The official description goes on to say that gaming disorders can include the following: "1) impaired control over gaming (e.g., onset, frequency, intensity, duration, termination, context); 2) increasing priority given to gaming to the extent that gaming takes precedence over other life interests and daily activities; and 3) continuation or escalation of gaming despite the occurrence of negative consequences."
