People generally know bad things happen but I think we tend to get a better idea of the extent of it as we age and get more life experience.

if anything, it seems to me that as I get older the more I notice that the problems people concern themselves with seem small and petty compared to the kind of large tragedies that actually occur, idk

Ultimately grrm is the one to blame because if he had the books done in time the show runners would have a lot less leeway to shit up the joint.

He told them how the rest of the series would go, it's just that they didn't have his scripts to carry the show anymore.

I don't think he told them much about the series except a few key plot details for the end of a couple of characters stories.

Even if he had, I'd still blame him tbh. The show takes a nosedive at the point in the books where the series expanded beyond the authors abilities. The books expanded from a trilogy to 5 to now 7 and almost certainly more books, because he does not know what he wants to do/what he wants to do keeps growing. At a certain point you need to rein yourself in and just finish the story you set out to write

Sega should focus on making good games with their franchises. A new Ecco game could make them a lot of money as long it's damn good. Just make sure the developers are reputable and have a good plan. Then make sure you market it appropriately.

I suppose. So then why doesn't Sega just sell the rights to Ecco completely? No risk involved there. Just cold hard cash for a franchise they apparently aren't going to use.

it's a collective action trap? everyone else in their situation is also just wanting to leverage their existing IPs

they'd need to sell it to an indie developer, most likely, which means the money wouldn't be worth it

For motion control, I'd still need something physical to hold onto but i can't use VR due to having a lazy eye.

I played House of the Dead 2&3 return for the Wii and it sorta felt like i was back in an arcade playing.

yeah, I agree on the tactile feel being a huge part of it

there are actually a couple of mods that essentially put a Wii motion control into your old light guns so you can play them on modern TVs. I really want to try them out, though tbf it's not quite the same as doing it on an old CRT

House of the Dead series has a special place in my heart. I kind of enjoyed all of those light gun shooting style games, but none of the others had the style of HotD

the protecting your territory from rival gangs and flying really sucked, IMO, and negatively affect its overall quality.

overall, I prefer GTAV.

Unfortunately, the books might suffer from a rushed ending too... not in terms of the time GRRM is taking to write them, obviously, but in terms of page count. I don't see how he can fit the rest of the story into two books when the books are basically just caught up with the end of Season 5.

yeah, he can't. he keeps saying his publishers want him to split up his next book into two again. which means that is what is going to happen, and he just wants to cushion the landing

Stannis was always going to die. He's another plot dead end. Does it go down the way it does in the show? Probably not. Is he going to die in a way that doesn't affect the overall big picture. Almost guaranteed.

It's almost impossible to see how Stannis can die without influencing the big picture in the books. I mean, it shouldn't have worked that way in the show, either, but the books actually take the whole 'game' part of the 'game of thrones' kind of seriously

the main thing that I feel is BS about what I've read from the leaks and how they end the show is how

they've built up Sansa as some kind of genius manipulator and political hustler, but that seems to be based purely on proximity to Littlefinger and Cersei, both of whom are shown to ultimately be pretty stupid at politics
