Well my larger point here is that it's a long-held pet peeve of mine when people "expose" a "double standard" or "hypocrisy" as if it is a) real and b) applies to an entire fanbase, or even an entire section of a fanbase.

Like how many actual specific people are we talking about here that have said they hate megas, then turned around later and said they wanted megas in SwSh? If it's like 2 or 3 people, who honestly gives a shit, and how is that in any way representative of the entire Pokemon fanbase or even just the GameFAQs Sword board? Or even just the anti-Dexit faction of the Sword board? How is it that these two people are enough to make you "stop caring" about the complaints being made? And if it's just general consensus of the board shifting rather than specific people being inconsistent, then that's meaningless - it's just two separate opinions posted by separate people at separate times.

It's a common thing on the internet where bodies of people are lumped into one category, so if the individual people that make up said body have differing opinions then it looks like that entire body of people has changed its mind, doesn't know what it wants, just wants to complain, etc.

Thing A happens <- a couple of fans say "man Thing A sucks, they should change it so it's like Thing B!"
Thing A changes to Thing B <- a couple of ENTIRELY DIFFERENT fans say "man I preferred it when it was Thing A, wtf is this"

Problems here: for one thing, nobody was a hypocrite, or had double standards, or anything like that. It's different people saying these things. And even if they were the same people, it cannot in any way be used to attack the wider fanbase/community because you've only got a very small number of confirmed hypocrites there. And if you're not attacking the fanbase, your point is simply "you can't make everyone happy", which is, like, duh?

I don't know where they go from there if it fails, but then that's the magic of the show I guess.

I'd watch Good Place first because you could conceivably watch it all before the last few episodes and then get involved in the hype. Those shows aren't going anywhere.

But yes, the ones you listed there that I've actually seen (Always Sunny and Community) are both better.

There aren't any "correct" fossils. There's a Dragon T-rex lower body, an Ice dino lower body, an Electric raptor head, and a Water fish head. You just take a head and a body and put them together. It's a play on how real world scientists sometimes mix and match fossil pieces since they don't really know how they go together.

The amount of red tape my work goes through before anyone gets paid is unreal. I saw the flow chart once. It's bizarrely overcomplicated. There's this idea that that sort of thing is a pure act of malice, and while I definitely wouldn't rule that out, it's probably just a combination of an inefficient system and people being too lazy to work through it.

To so transparently and starkly put that "choice" out there, the choice you make when you deal with Saudi, is something I want more of. It's gross to me that he sides with the money, but at least he's honest - where UK leaders, for instance, skirt the question.

He should do more of this. Don't dress anything up. Nakedly expose the choices you make when you support invading middle eastern countries and when you support the Saudi regime. You are not involved in the middle east as pure-hearted freedom fighters; you are there for oil. You are not backing MBS and his involvement in Yemen because you want to wait and see how the proceedings play out and you're waiting for "due process" or something; you are backing him because he pays you.

Strip away the pretense that it is anything other than a morals vs. money (or power, or whatever) issue. And if people, when fully informed, choose the money then at least we know where we stand.

This election is very up in the air

An absolute Tory majority like 2015 isn't out of the question but is... unlikely.
They can't form a coalition with the DUP with the current deal which the DUP are against (unless the Cons pay them another fuckload of money then they might abandon their principles but I doubt they would).
They can't ally with the Lib Dems this time because LD's policy is strictly revoke A50 and remain which flies in the face of everything they're trying to do
The Brexit Party might get a couple of seats, but probably not enough combined to give them a majority.

I don't see what their options are. Conservatives are likely to win the most seats but I'm not sure what the makeup would be of the government if they don't win a majority.
