The house arc felt like an absolute slog, just showing the same shit over and over again, the action wasn't particularly GOOD, just had good post processing on it. Obviously the episode right after was the worst offender, with them in the heard after the fact. The Zenitsu stuff last week took the whole episode, but it never felt like a slog, and they payoff was excellent. This week's is just a banger all around. I think it's a combination of this being when Yaiba "gets good"(not that it was bad before, but this has always been very clearly where the manga starts to really get its footing), and Ufotable being fully aware of that and managing their efforts appropriately. In terms of the page to episode ratio we're certainly on an upswing, too. --- |

The changes it makes are kind of fascinating, like it's adjusting for all the missteps the anime made, cutting out the fat, expanding what needs to be expanded. There's a third of the manga left and it's just past episode 23 of where it lines up with the original. Wish I had read this years ago. --- |

I can't imagine they could have, in any scenario, thought "fake Snake announcement" was going to get laughs instead of scorn. As such, I must assume it's just a cover. It's like if Sakurai snapped his fingers during a Smash direct and Batman started doing his "I am the Night" spiel, and then it cut off with Sakurai going lol jk. It doesn't work. I guess it's POSSIBLE they could have been that tone deaf, but then what must they have thought when the crowd got super hyped instead of started laughing? How fast did they go from having a laugh to "oh shit we fucked up"? --- |

How bad must their PR team be if they think they can make an elaborate joke about a major character like Snake joining the roster....and expect the reaction to be a bunch of laughs when it's revealed to be fake, rather than people getting pissed, especially with major third party character support already established? For now I HAVE to assume it's them trying to cover their ass due to some part of the contract making the accidental reveal an actual problem, because the alternative is too nuts for me to beleive. --- |

I was upset with the low episode count, but this was easily the best season so far, and had more actual "story" content than either of the first 2. I don't think 3-5 quite reaches as high for me as 1-11 did, even with the obvious parallels, but overall this season has nuts pacing and I don't feel like it's hurt by the low episode count at all. --- |
