A lot of liberals have been too quick to conspiracize in the aftermath of 2016. A simpler explanation for Gabbard is that she's just sort of an opportunist looking for any opportunity to raise her profile. As a rep from Hawaii, that's tough to do in conventional ways.

So she spotted a chance to be known as the anti-DNC Dem in the 2016 primaries after the Sanders campaign emerged, then contemplated being the Democrat in the Trump administration, and now is just trying to do the anti-DNC thing again.

Yeah, I think the simplest explanation for Tulsi Gabbard is that she's a mediocre-to-poor politician whose ambition outstrips her abilities. She got took a lucky risk once and has stuck with it doggedly. From the sounds of it, she's probably going to lose her Congressional seat to a primary challenge too.

My memory is foggy, but the best one is the Count of Dublin, since he's the eldest son of the elderly Count of Leinster? just south of him, so you'll wind up with an additional county in short order. Ireland is very fractured in 1066(and Scotland and England won't bother you for a while, probably a long while), so even with just two counties, you'll be one of the bigger fish and can work on getting a handle on things. It takes time.

I agree: stuff like development and estates didn't belong as expansion-locked features, and leaving them that way for so long prevented them from iterating on those features in interesting ways sooner.

You straight-up don't need anything that isn't labeled an expansion, unless unit models and advisor art are important to you.

As far as the expansions are concerned, the Immersion Packs aren't very compelling(Golden Century is the only that's maybe okay). You definitely want Art of War, Common Sense, and Mandate of Heaven. Dharma is also really good. No need to bother with Conquest of Paradise or El Dorado unless you really like playing colonizers. Cradle of Civilization is good for the Middle East, Res Publica is nice if you care about the Dutch. You can and should straight-up ignore Mare Nostrum.

Also, it must be stated that you still get all the patches regardless of what expansions you have.

1's game-play is really clunky, but it's got a great story and establishes the setting exceptionally well.

2's game-play is great and the story and setting are still great, even if not quite as good as 1's. I was amped and ready to play more when the ending sequences played.

3's gameplay is also great, but it has the weakest plotting of the 3. With that said, it's still great story-wise, until the ending, but it does 2 especially a disservice by essentially sidelining all the squadmates from 2 and dumpstering most of Cerberus' development and also idiot-boxing them.
Still well worth playing and enjoyable even though the ending is a major let-down.

Edit: yikes, thread about this on the CK subreddit is full of seething racist assholes

It's really disappointing how many of those types Paradox games tend to attract

Not many games let you build a white Christian ethnostate if you want

Yeah, historically-grounded games are basically always going to attract nationalists and racists of all stripes, but Paradox deserves credit for actively policing them and going out of its way to avoid indulging their tropes.

It sounds like CK3 is aiming at making characters the center of your experience. As some one who bought CK2 at launch, I can say that that's something that CK2 wasn't well-equipped to do: they kind of had that insight after-the-fact and built it in. It feels like the right direction to go in and they can build the game around that from the get-go. I can't really afford to be buying games at launch anymore, but I think it's a certainity that CK3 will, sooner or later, leave its predecessor in the dust.

As far as what else came out of PDXcon: they announced a Lithoids species pack and a Federations expansion for Stellaris. Apparently, lithoids will actually play differently from organics. And diplomacy is definitely the weakest aspect of Stellaris currently, so it's nice to see them finally overhauling it.
Apparently, the Lithoids are dropping this Thursday alongside a patch.

To the Bills? No, I actually think we're pretty set at QB for now: Josh Allen is dumb, but also cool and trending in the right direction, and Matt Barkley is a good, cost-effective back-up.
There are; however, a lot of teams Kaep could play for. He rates out as an above-average QB and could probably get, say, the Bucs competing for a wild card(just LOL if you're going to try and tell me he's worse than Jameis Winston). He could start for the Dolphins, but they're obviously not interested in winning. He could definitely have played much better than Luke Falk even without knowing Adam Gase's system. He could probably do better than Mariota or Tannyhill. He's way better than Trubisky or Chase Daniels. I don't know that there's a back-up better than he is, but Kaep shouldn't have to take a cheap deal. If Russ Wilson or Lamar Jackson got hurt tomorrow, I guarantee Kaep would be better than either of their back-ups. He's better than Devlin Hodges and Mason Rudolph(though the latter holds the potential promise of being a long-term successor to Big Ben). He would be a better option than Matt Moore if Patrick Mahomes needs to rest his ankle.

The way they handle DLC is so disgusting. I was lucky and got the CK 2 humble bundle recently. Fuck ever paying even half-price for it

It's better with subsequent titles(EU4, HoI4, and Stellaris) because they actually lock a lot less content behind the DLCs(like, 75+% of the content in those games is in the free patches). CK2 needs DLC to play any non-Christian, non-feudal character *and* to unlock earlier start-dates, and that isn't good.

For what it's worth, they *will* be announcing the next Stellaris expansion at Paradox Con Saturday. EU4's next expansion isn't yet named, but the outlines of it is already known(it's Europe-focused, with special attention paid to the HRE. There have been regular dev diaries on their forums for months now). CK2, regardless of whether or not CK3 is coming soon, is towards or at the end of its life. And they already promised they wouldn't do any expansions for Imperator until they're done with a lengthy patch schedule(I think they're more than half-way through it now and the game is *supposedly* going in the right direction). Oh, and they already announced Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has been delayed until Q3 2020(from Q1 2020).
