I would say about 70% from the novel have been taken out. I always said, along with everyone, they should never remake The Godfather, now I say, they don't have to try to be like the movie, but closely follow the book, which will take several seasons no doubt. Johnny Fontane, and Jule the surgeon, and Sonny's side chick stories were some of my favorite. It also explains some more things that have never been mentioned from the film like, why Kate married Michael. It showed in the film it was because she still loved him, but it was only half of the reason. Michael's training with his father. Michael's long venture in Italy, and the aftermath of the "tragedy" there. Luca Brasi's background. Vito's last days. Who Michael's top hitman was( Netflix? HBO? AMC? Where y'all at! --- |
