Jesus doesn't directly speak to you and tell you what to do with your life. If you actually heard someone talking back to you when you prayed, you'd be schizophrenic. Just did a bit more poking around and it is apparently Irenaeus, an early Christian Bishop that got the ball rolling on the fixation with Original Sin. So in this instance you'd likely just get a set of shrugged shoulders if you went asking Rabbis about it. Trip to the Vatican would likely get you more. So my error there. Kind of interesting that the early church was still focusing on that issue or idea of original sin and not focusing on the redemption and salvation aspect... Well, perhaps not focusing, but arguing about it to the extent it did.
