Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2021)
By December 2018, Scott Derrickson had completed a deal to return to direct a sequel to Doctor Strange. Marvel was beginning to search for a writer, with a plan to begin filming in early 2020. Benedict Cumberbatch and Benedict Wong will reprise their roles. Elizabeth Olsen will co-star, reprising her role from other MCU films as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch. The film genre was announced to be more horror-styled, with intentions of being "the first scary MCU film". Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to be released on May 7, 2021

The horror direction makes it sound promising but, as far as superhero horror goes, I'm far more interested in the upcoming New Mutants film. (Not enough to see it in theaters, though.)

Eh, the delineation between arcs is confusing, especially because the change is abrupt at times. I guess it's the Konoha Crush arc, although it's *really* short compared to the Chunin Exams arc. And I will say that Sarutobi v Orochimaru might rank among the worst fights in the show, since both are renowned warriors yet the level of their jutsu is pathetic even compared to things seen within the next two arcs.

The fallout from this arc is good, though, since it leads to a cool confrontation.

That said, maybe the MCU Fantastic Four will excite me. Or if they actually do that Namor movie.

And then I skipped Captain Marvel entirely. I can literally chart my interest in the films slowly dying off.

I'm probably going to buy Far From Home on DVD when it comes out, but unless I motivate myself to watch Homecoming first, I almost certainly won't bother to watch that one either.

I'm kicking myself for not seeing Homecoming when it was on NFI. Right now I basically have a free movie ticket for Far from Home yet I haven't wanted to watch it before seeing HC. Who is good to duo? I'm curious now.

Moltres, Rayquaza, Articuno, and Heatran are all relatively easy to duo because they have double weaknesses. Azelf is an easy duo because he has terrible defense. Entei is a pretty easy duo because he's weak vs some pretty strong counters -- not to mention that two weather conditions (rain and partly-cloudy) boost his counters rather than just one like most other bosses. Out of the ones I mentioned, Moltres is probably the easiest duo simply because his best counters resist all of his attacks (well, except for AP which he apparently has now; that said, rock/ground combos like Rhyperior resist that as well)

Deoxys-A has such shit defense (iirc the lowest in-game) he can be solo'd. Deoxys-N is an easy duo because he also has absurdly low defense. The other Deoxys forms are harder, with Deoxys-D probably requiring at least 4 players.

Including or excluding anime? >_>

idk, the problem nowadays is that everything is designed with the expectation that it'll last a lot longer than it does so we get shitty cliffhangers instead of real resolutions. (And the ones that do get an ending usually don't get a great one.)

I will say that the BBC version of The Office ended perfectly -- as the tv special shows David Brent growing as a person.

The US version of Being Human had a great final arc where the enemy was the house itself and the show ends with closure for all of the characters.

...you know, given all of the tv I've watched over the years, it's hard to imagine that I'm struggling to think of more than two live-action shows with a good ending, let alone a perfect one.

Animation-wise, JLU ended early but the final season had a great ending that capped off a fantastic story arc with an epic battle (featuring Superman's incredible "world made of cardboard speech" where he reveals that he's been holding back not just throughout the fight, but the series in general because was worried about accidentally killing an opponent) and a fun open-ended conclusion.

Avatar: The Last Airbender also had a pretty good ending, although it left some loose ends to sell comics.

Considering that American slavery overwhelmingly targeted people originally from poor economic circumstance -- both in the US's original form of indentured servitude (which was later turned permanent when some debt-holders (notably including African-American Anthony Johnson who some credit as being the US's first slave-owner due to the courts granting him lifetime control over some of his servants) and then later in the practice of kidnapping tribesmen from poor nations (largely crimes of opportunity because they were easy targets) -- there is some merit to the argument, although it should also be stated that US laws surrounding slavery gradually developed some pretty heavy racial components. If you look outside the US (which is hard to do for many), slavery has been pretty color-blind considering that people from all races have been taken as slaves (and the word "slave" comes from "Slav", one of the earlier victims of slavery)

And, if you go into the larger concept of people as property, you also have the serfdom system which treated humans are part of a parcel of land and, in European nations, the landowner could choose who his serfs married.

Otherwise, slavery was a system of economic advantage. The primary benefit of slavery was never "racism," it was profit. Which isn't to say that many slave-owners weren't racist -- because many absolutely were -- or that the system didn't benefit from racism (which it absolutely did) but it was done mostly for profit.

I proudly voted for Gary Johnson and him in 2016. Would be fine voting for him in 2020 if he had any chance of winning the Republican ticket, which he doesn't. Won't vote 3rd party this time though, even though my state isn't a swing state and my vote doesn't matter. If Trump's the nominee, voting straight Democrat for the first time in my life, just to send a message.

You mean the guy whose political career was defined by a series of Aleppo Moments? >_>

A premise which in itself is pretty scary, considering how often it was in the news.

No. That's why the comments were racist and unacceptable. America is a nation of immigrants founded on the ideals of free thought and free speech"

He clearly doesn't know Trump.

I know, I'm saying these are held at a similar level of esteem. The SNES and (arguably) the PS1 were more highly regarded.

The Genesis and N64 aren't comparably popular. The Genesis is probably closer to the WiiU.

...why didn't they just show the manage the receipt from the get-go? It seems like 99% of these incidents could be easily resolved like that. I got accused of shoplifting a few times as a kid, but it never turned into a news story. Shit, I feel like I lost the ability to cash in on my mild inconvenience.

I was tempted when I noticed the price drop at Best Buy but... when I was going through the selection, I'm just still seeing enough there. Granted, if I didn't own FFVII, it would have been an insta-buy. However, it only has 20 games and, of those, maybe 5 of them jump out at me (and that includes FFVII)

Anybody here bother picking it up? Do you like it?

No, the list is right as is because CT is near the top. We have nutters who put flamethrowers on drones and mayors who repeatedly molested girls under the age of 10. A state this small really shouldn't have the level of crazy that it does.

Oh, wait, that's exactly what it was. Carry on.

My sibling says he males them rethink their stance on the death penalty. Sibling is overall against it. I'm not sure what to think on that front, kinda feels like the guy is disturbed and snapped. I don't know. I'm not saying that I feel bad for him, to be clear, but unsure how they should proceed. I'll admit I don't even know about the Japanese judicial system or general punishment stuff.

Most people who perpetrate these kinds of attacks are mentally ill which makes the death penalty seem worse, not better, tbh.

And it's frustrating how we frequently see defendants beg for life in prison, cut plea deals to take the death penalty off the table, etc... and yet the people who oppose death penalty will still claim life in prison is a "worse" sentence, despite the constant examples of it clearly not being considered worse.

....because they suffer longer in prison.

So I guess we should do the merciful thing and just execute him, then.

By that logic, why not execute everybody to end to their suffering?

Well, the point of my response was to show how ridiculous and stupid it was to view execution as the more merciful option compared to life in prison, so....thanks for inadvertently supporting my point?

It's more merciful but it's also more barbaric. At any rate, your "argument" is generally ridiculous and stupid, just like the death penalty.
