PRICHARD, Ala. (WPMI) There is a big typo on the City of Prichards new residential garbage cans. It's a mistake many in the small community never noticed.
On both sides of the cans, the logo reads "Mobile Country" instead of "Mobile County." The spelling error was printed on all 10,000 cans.

Prichard Mayor Jimmie Gardner didnt explain how this logo mistake happened. Instead, he said its the Public Works Departments responsibility to proofread.

"Things like that do happen in the proofing. We just have to look at and hope that in the process of proofing that those kinds of errors dont take place," Mayor Gardner said.

WPMI called, emailed and went to Prichard Public Works Department to speak with Director Fernando Billsup about this. He could not be reached.

Robert Kennedy with Mayor Gardners office said the city has no plans to replace the cans.

A 65-year-old man was arrested Monday after robbing a bank in downtown Colorado Springs, before reportedly walking outside, throwing the money into air and yelling, Merry Christmas!
Around 12:27 p.m. Monday, David Oliver allegedly threatened employees of the Academy Bank at 1 South Tejon Street with a weapon, leaving the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the Colorado Springs police blotter.
A witness told KKTV that Oliver then walked outside, threw the bills into the air and shouted his festive message. Sgt. Jim Jeffocat, a Colorado Springs police spokesman, would not confirm that money was thrown into air or that Oliver yelled Merry Christmas.
Oliver then sat on the patio of the Starbucks coffee shop next door, where police arrested him without conflict, police said. A Starbucks manager who answered the phone Tuesday said Oliver didnt order a drink and nobody in the store seemed to pay him any mind.
Some of the money was retrieved but thousands of dollars remain missing, Jeffcoat said. The witness told KKTV that people walking down the street stopped to pick up the flying bills to return to the bank tellers.
Officers found no indication that Oliver was armed with a weapon, Jeffcoat said.

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) -- The man who investigators were looking to arrest was already in jail when a task force raided his former home in Wilmer on Thursday morning.

Ann Rylee, a 19-year-old woman who now lives at the home on Old Moffat Road, was shot several times as investigators made their way inside the house. Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran claims that Rylee had a shotgun in her hand and pointed it at officers.

Cochran said, "The entry team was giving her orders, 'Drop the gun, put the gun down, drop the gun,' several times over a period of a few seconds." He continued, "She pointed the gun at one of them and two or three agents fired upon her."

Family members told FOX10 News that Rylee is hospitalized in stable condition and is expected to survive. The family also disputed the sheriff's claims and said that the agents never identified themselves as law enforcement and never told Rylee to drop the gun.

The task force serving the warrants were at the home looking for Nicholas McLeod. Family members said McLeod hasn't lived at that address for a while, and that Rylee and McLeod's nephew currently live there.

McLeod was booked into jail around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, about 15 hours before investigators raided his former home.

Sheriff Cochran said, "We do know that there is a miscommunication in this situation. We don't know the exact cause. We have narrowed it down to one of two things."
He said one cause could be that investigators did not run one final check before sending teams out to make the arrest. The second cause could be a problem where a computer system did not communicate that the warrants were no longer active.

He added, "If she would not have pointed a gun at the agents they would have determined all that on the scene and would have bid her a good day and thank you very much."

The Mobile County Sheriffs Office, Homeland Security, and US Customs and Border Patrol conducted the raid. Sheriff Cochran said that the shots were not fired by Mobile County Sheriff's Office deputies. He said the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation will be the agency investigating the shooting.

TopicChristianity Today receives new subscriptions after calling for Trump's removal

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/12/22/christianity-today-receives-boost-in-subscriptions-after-call-for-trump-removal.html

The Christian magazine that published a blistering editorial calling for President Donald Trumps removal from office over his blackened moral record has received a boost in subscribers despite a public backlash among leading evangelicals, according to the publications editor in chief.

Mark Galli, the editor in chief of Christianity Today who authored the op-ed, acknowledged to MSNBC on Sunday that the magazine has lost subscribers, but he said there has also been an outpouring of support.
A stereotypical response is thank you, thank you, thank you with a string of a hundred exclamation points youve said what Ive been thinking but havent been able to articulate, Im not crazy, Galli said of the response from supporters. We have lost subscribers but weve had 3 times as many people start to subscribe.

In the editorial published Thursday, Galli argued that Trumps effort to use his power as president to coerce a foreign leader to investigate Democratic presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden is not only a violation of the Constitution; more importantly, it is profoundly immoral.

Galli called on evangelicals who continue to support Trump despite his blackened moral record to remember who you are and whom you serve. Consider how your justification of Mr. Trump influences your witness to your Lord and Savior.

Trumps response to the editorial was swift. He slammed Christianity Today as a far left magazine, or very progressive on Twitter, saying no president has done more for the evangelical community. Christianity Today was founded by the late evangelical preacher Billy Graham and called former President Bill Clintons administration morally unable to lead in a piece published in 1998.

Grahams son Franklin Graham, a supporter of Trump, defended the president in a Facebook post. He said his father voted for Trump and would not agree with Christianity Todays opinion piece.

In fact, he would be very disappointed, Franklin Graham wrote.

When asked why Trumps support among evangelical Christians remains strong, Galli said many in the community have a deep and profound attachment to the president, pointing to his support for the pro-life movement, religious liberty overseas and the economy among other reasons.

Unfortunately some of my brothers and sisters considered him appointed by the Lord and what I would consider extreme language in that regard, Galli told MSNBC, adding that for others, criticism of a sitting president is bad form.

However, he said a line has been crossed in light of the House impeachment hearings and evangelicals risked damaging the reputation of the church if they dont speak up.

[...] Were sacrificing a great deal of the good were called to do and believe in if we dont at least say out loud, in front of God and everybody, that in terms of his public character Donald Trump is a serious problem and no longer fit for office on those moral grounds alone, he said.

Federal agencies will be closed Dec. 24 and employees will have the day off with pay, under an order President Trump issued Tuesday that amounts to the latest in a series of holiday presents to the federal workforce.

Presidents commonly give federal employees additional time off around the Christmas Day holiday, although a full day off most typically is granted to create a long weekend when that day lands on a Tuesday or a Thursday. Trump did that last year when Christmas Day was on a Tuesday; when it falls on other days, the most common practice has been to give a half-day off, or none.

The order follows his administrations recent acceptance of provisions in two budget bills sponsored by House Democrats to provide 12 weeks of paid parental leave and to pay a 3.1 percent average federal raise in January.

The order applies to some 2.1 million executive branch employees, although under the order agencies may determine that certain offices and installations of their organizations, or parts thereof, must remain open and that certain employees must report for duty on December 24, 2019, for reasons of national security, defense, or other public need.

That mirrors the policy of similar previous orders, as does language in the order referring to the impact on pay and leave.

Most employees who are excused from duty on December 24th as a result of the Presidents Executive order will receive the basic pay they would have received if no Executive order had been issued, according to guidance issued Wednesday morning.

An employee who was previously scheduled to take annual leave on December 24th will not be charged annual leave (or any other form of paid leave, compensatory time off, or credit hours), it says.

Employees who are ordered to remain at work are entitled to holiday pay, which is an add-on equal to their regular salary rate, while employees not regularly scheduled to work that day will be entitled to an in lieu of day off.
An accompanying question and answer document describes the impact on employees in various specialized situations.

https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/crime/suspected-washington-leader-of-neo-nazi-group -charged-with-violating-gun-ban-under-states-red-flag-law/

https://bit.ly/34vMcT3

King County prosecutors have charged the suspected leader of Washingtons chapter of the violent neo-Nazi group Atomwaffen Division with unlawful possession of a firearm, in violation of a court order issued under the states red-flag law.

Kaleb James Cole, 24, was charged with the gross misdemeanor Monday. A warrant was issued for his arrest in Washington, with bail set at $20,000, according to court documents from the King County Prosecuting Attorneys Office. Court documents list his last known address as a residence in Arlington, Snohomish County, but officials did not say if they know where he is now. The warrant is nonextraditable, so he can only be arrested in Washington in connection with the charge.

A judge granted Seattle Police Departments petition for an extreme risk protection order against Cole in October, under which his firearms were confiscated and he was banned from possessing guns for a year. A violation of the order could result in a five-year ban under state law.

Seattle officials argued that Cole has recently shown a pattern of acts or threats of violence that necessitated removing his weapons. In their petition, police cited his participation in weapons training and recruitment efforts at hate camps in Washington, relying heavily on reporting by ProPublica, and his travel to places like the Auschwitz concentration camp. There, he took photos holding an Atomwaffen flag and performing Nazi salutes, which federal officials found on his cellphone.

Washington voters overwhelmingly approved the states red flag law that allows such orders in 2016, which let police and family members ask a judge to keep firearms out of the hands of people believed to pose a threat to themselves or others. As reported by The New York Times, officials in 17 states that have adopted red flag laws have found themselves in uncertain territory, balancing public safety with individuals rights.

The order against Cole was granted in King County, but prosecutors here are arguing that he showed blatant disregard and violated it when he was pulled over in November by deputies in Texas who said they found multiple assault rifles inside his car. A Washington man in the passenger seat, who officials believe is also a member of Atomwaffen, said the guns were his and is facing a federal gun charge.
