They always find something. First time my mom went for a teeth cleaning she ended up getting a root canal.

I go twice a year and they never find anything because I actually take care of my teeth.

My dental hygienist literally thanks me for being the easiest two appointments of her entire year.

Sounds like your mom has been doing a poor job with her teeth and not visiting a dentist on a regular basis probably helped.

Some people have genetically bad teeth. Im one of them. I can brush with the appropriate intensity and frequency, and floss semi regularly, but there is still at least one cavity every damn time.

How much soda do you drink? Most "genetically bad teeth" are just weak enamel that acidic liquids wear away at relatively easily, letting all that sugar sit and promote bacteria growth. A healthy diet more or less completely eliminates this problem.

I want a tooth filled, but they want a crown on it. It was from a root canal. I don't have 2000 dollars for your fucking plastic cork, just clean the damn tooth and fill it. if it fractures, pull it and maybe i'll get an implant later on down the road. i just can not afford all the shit they rack up

I stick to water and the occasional diet soda. Alcohol every other weekend. Im a doctor who takes pretty good care of himself, and its truly at least in part a genetic predisposition for bad teeth. Theyre not falling out or anything, theyre just prone to cavities.

Your dentist probably knows when a crown is the best solution for a tooth problem.

I'm sure, but it's been completely ignored for three years because I can't afford it. If I'm getting dental work done, it's going to be on my terms, for once. Tons of dentists don't even let you get a word in.

I was reading this story on Reddit about a lady who went to her handsome dentist and while he had his finger in her mouth he said "apply suction" so she started sucking on his finger. He got a bit awkward because he was actually talking to his assistant.
