Emerald was kino when I was a kid, but I admit, revisiting it when I was older was really difficult. I feel that way about a lot of older games though. Alpha sapphire was the first time I didnt finish a pokemon game I bought.

We're not talking 'large' power. The inverse of nothing would be infinity (and I'm not talking in the mathematically sense where certain infinities are greater than others), but a different kind of infinity that entails true omnipotence.

Can you then explain to me why you are using mathematical values and relations such as inverses and zero? Math is just logic.

So you say that as there can be no less nothing than the state of nothing, so too must there be nothing higher than this 'higher power' you have proposed. Why? Certainly you cant take any more out of nothing, but to say you can't add anything to an arbitrarily large power means that that power in fact faces its own constraints and will be faced with its own questions.

Across 10 characters, so a 3% chance to get something from the pool designated as ultra rare? In TF2 (the only microtransaction multiplayer game I've ever invested in) it was .5% to even break into the ultra rare category. To say nothing of pulling holographs in TCGs.

I assume this game is free at least, so it's reasonable to expect that you won't get the unlockable content handed to you on a platter?

Note: I'm thinking of this as uncrating, I admit I've never happened to come across what the fuck "gacha" explicitly entails except collecting animu

That percentage is for each of those individually. Having a 6% chance to get an item of the highest rarity (3% divided among the "spotlight" items, the other 3% divided across all the others in the pool) is exactly in-line with Fire Emblem Heroes and is very generous compared to most other gacha games on the market. To compare, Fate Grand Order has only a 1% chance to pull a top-rarity character, and that 1% is divided across dozens of different characters, not even including ones that are limited time only. 0.3% to pull your favorite character is way better than 0.02%.

So like you're guaranteed to get something on the list, and say Koopa Troopa and Dry Bones each have a 5% chance of appearing?

I have never played gacha but that seems fine as long as you don't have to use big microtransactions or something.

Our brains ache, in the merciless iced east winds that knive us . . .
Wearied we keep awake because the night is silent . . .
Low drooping flares confuse our memory of the salient . . .

Worried by silence, sentries whisper, curious, nervous,
But nothing happens.

Watching, we hear the mad gusts tugging on the wire,
Like twitching agonies of men among its brambles.
Northward, incessantly, the flickering gunnery rumbles,
Far off, like a dull rumour of some other war.
What are we doing here?

The poignant misery of dawn begins to grow . . .
We only know war lasts, rain soaks, and clouds sag stormy.
Dawn massing in the east her melancholy army
Attacks once more in ranks on shivering ranks of grey,
But nothing happens.

Sudden successive flights of bullets streak the silence.
Less deadly than the air that shudders black with snow,
With sidelong flowing flakes that flock, pause, and renew,
We watch them wandering up and down the wind's nonchalance,
But nothing happens.

Pale flakes with fingering stealth come feeling for our faces
We cringe in holes, back on forgotten dreams, and stare, snow-dazed,
Deep into grassier ditches. So we drowse, sun-dozed,
Littered with blossoms trickling where the blackbird fusses.
Is it that we are dying?

Slowly our ghosts drag home: glimpsing the sunk fires, glozed
With crusted dark-red jewels; crickets jingle there;
For hours the innocent mice rejoice: the house is theirs;
Shutters and doors, all closed: on us the doors are closed,
We turn back to our dying.

Since we believe not otherwise can kind fires burn;
Now ever suns smile true on child, or field, or fruit.
For God's invincible spring our love is made afraid;
Therefore, not loath, we lie out here; therefore were born,
For love of God seems dying.

Tonight, this frost will fasten on this mud and us,
Shrivelling many hands, and puckering foreheads crisp.
The burying-party, picks and shovels in shaking grasp,
Pause over half-known faces. All their eyes are ice,
But nothing happens.

what areas of philosophy interest you the most? what are you reading to start with? have you read much about philosophy before?

I guess the instigator is economics and governance. I'm interested in reading stuff like Adams and American Founding Fathers as well as Marx and Lenin and such eventually, but I don't want to just jump right into that, I'd like to have a broad foundation of the history of the philosophy tradition. I'm reading Euthyphro right now, I'm not sure if I'll go through, like, The Complete Works (tm) of Plato, but I enjoy what I'm reading a lot even if I'm already familiar with the ideas via diffusion.
I'm not sure I recall reading a purely philosophical text for the sake of philosophy before now.

LOL what kind of options are these.... assuming a lot about the playerbase!

It's an "in character" quiz. If your character is already married and settled down they may not be suitable for gallant adventure lol

Paisley Park seems to be straight up a reality warper. Although I dont think she's used that aspect of the ability since they fought the breath tornado guy. Might not come back up with how much Araki changes the toolkits of the MCs in this part (looking at you Soft & Wet).

I reread Urban Guerilla last night, Head Doctor is perhaps a more serious threat than I originally thought

I suggest you read Edward Snowden's new book. He said that when he was working at the NSA, he saw that the U.S. was implementing the exact same tools on its own citizens, but privately instead of publicly.
