Coworker told me a story of a guy he knew in the army who had a serious gambling problem. He was ordered to stay away from the casinos by his CO and went anyways.

My coworker and his buddies realized that he'd gone and they went to get him before he got into some shit. They weren't ordered to, they wanted to get him out without alerting the CO.

When they found him in the casino, he was up about 32 grand. They begged him to stop and cash out, but he wasn't having it. He ended up losing everything.

His wife found out, who then informed the CO, who tore him several new assholes. He spent the next ten years doing basically bitch work.
