We have these baby gates, with a cat door at the bottom, which opens independently from the actually gate. I dont think our smallest dog can fit through it anymore, but she could when she was a puppy. Could try one of those. Wouldnt want to leave it totally open though --- |

He played more when he was younger, but has calmed down considerably. Might be because our other two cats are much younger, and thus harder to keep up with. - I really dont think their diet/free feeding is the problem. They have access to their food, water, and litter. So Im not sure how that would change anything. Its always been that way, and this is a new issue --- |

Basically we got a vacuum and a special type of device that you plug into an outlet that has a remote control for power. We would plug the vacuum in that with it powered on, but use the remote to turn it on and off. We kept it outside the front door. This is a great idea. Have a link for said device? Our cat hates the vacuum. --- |

One of our cats got into a horrible phase last year where he just hits the door and wants to be let in and then would leave right away. As soon we put it in, he hit once and never did it again. We ended up removing it a couple weeks later and they never did it again You putting it on the door or floor? Assuming door since you mentioned paint, but just want to be sure. Weve been doing this for years, everyone knows the routine. Recently, our oldest cat (8 yrs old), has come up with a new quirk. Starting around 4-5 am, hell start howling at the bedroom door to be let in. Hell also use his 15lb to stand up and knock against the door. Weve tried ignoring him and letting him cry it out, hell do this for an hour no problem. Weve tried reprimanding him. Weve tried letting him in. Sometimes he wants back out literally two minutes after entering, sometimes he makes you pet him indefinitely. This has been going on for about five days now, and I really fucking need a full night of sleep. --- |
