Hindsight being what it is, I don't know that I would do it all over if I could go back to 18 year old me and make that choice again, but a lot of it was fun and interesting. No other job like it. I like guns, etc. Lot of the people are cool, normal people, with a few absolute dickheads sprinkled in for flavor. And I got deployed to Guatemala. | Mad_Max 07/28/19 8:13:25 PM #1 | Wife floated the idea of getting one. From what I understand you need a subscription to access the classes/workout routines. Otherwise, it's just like any other stationary bike, no? Is it worth it? Some more detail for anyone interested: I used to do distance running (half-marathons and some full marathons), but blew up my hip about 7 years ago in a freak accident while playing with my dog. Running was my passion, but I've had three different doctors advise me not to engage in it anymore, for risk of making my hip worse. They recommended low-impact cardio (elliptical, which my wife bought but I absolutely loathe, or stationary bike were two they'd mentioned). Also used to be really into trail riding with mountain bikes before my kids were born, so I think I could get into the stationary bike thing, especially if they have some sort of trail riding workout. I've been slowly getting fatter since I stopped running, as it's the only exercise I was really enthusiastic about. Would love to get back in shape and the Peloton seems enticing, but not sure it's worth sinking the money into a glorified stationary bike if the classes and routines in the subscription aren't enough to keep me going. I don't mind the subscription as I canceled my gym membership a while back (used to train on treadmills and do some lifting to balance things out), figure the subscription amounts to having the gym membership back... --- Terminal Crazy https://imgur.com/R9TrmGD |
