At launch you'd find a new ship and bam it's yours. Now you find a new ship and it's broken so you have to fix it by crafting various junk. Same with finding suit upgrades. It's just arbitrary steps to do the same thing you could before.

If you enjoy base building, the game is better, if you don't you'll get so bored before you can get to the other parts of the game you might enjoy

If you're poor enough, you get a tax credit. It could have been that way, but neither party had any real interest in it. Since then you would have to raise taxes to pay for a service, rather than make insurance companies more revenue at the expense of middle America picking up higher premiums with larger deductibles for lower quality.

I had a contactless reddit post spoil it, but hopefully not enough detail to ruin the journey. But at least it taught me the season exist. S2 def got a little more trippy, but I felt it was never cheap.
