Man it feels like some of my players are being greedier than usual in their demands this offseason. I underestimated the demands of virtually every player I have up for renewal.

I'm sure it goes off some sort of formula involving OVR and other factors but Mike Pearson is a prime example.

Granted Pearson had a holdout between those 2 points.

It seems like all my players want the same salary they had in their final year of their contract as their average per year in the new contract even if their rating is the same. And the final year of the contract should never be the average, it should be above average.

Last year we started good and injuries derailed everything. Plus it was built on unsustainable 3 point shooting. A couple of years ago we started 19-13 and it got derailed because the players hated Skiles. This year it looks very different though.

That being said, as I've mentioned a few times we have a ridiculously tough next 24 games (16 on the road). We then get back from that stint with 2 home games against the Celtics and Rockets. So basically if we get to that point (45 game point) at 19-20+ wins we are possibly a playoff team as the back end of our schedule is a hell of lot softer. If we are only at like 14-16 wins we likely crumble (which is the norm)

Best case scenario I see us with ~22 wins at that point. More realistic scenario, maybe 17 or 18 wins. I think we end up with ~37 wins this season if we keep playing like we are now. 28-30 wins if we tail off. So probably somewhere between those two but we probably have a ceiling of like 44-45 wins

Yeah I mean of all things to get upset about, 2 people close to each other in strength having a close match is not the one you would expect people to flip out about. And it's not like either character has a rabid fanbase

Is Tifa getting rallied again? I could be wrong, but the vote totals seem a bit higher than they usually are at this time.

We are up about 1600 votes from yesterday but right about in line with Ganon/Vivi (i.e another close match). We are 300 or so down from MMX/Tifa and the rallies we think made a larger difference didn't happen until later in the day. Only the MMX rally was in swing around this point I think

Well Nintendo is very broad so it's understandable
Final Fantasy is literally one series so it's harder to accept

Compare it to Zelda then. Zelda has 3/16 of the final 16 and has a far smaller cast than FF.

Nobody going after LE Erik Thornton (87) surprised me. 87 is DE28 in the league so a bonafide starter for only a 1st rounder.

Well given that Zelda beat down Squall and Aeris by larger margins than the N9 did, I highly doubt we have seen anything like that before unless a division was full of fodder or a N9 tearing through a division.

It's funny that all these people who claim things are super obvious aren't dominating the oracle every contest. Lopen does at least have the #1 pick the match we're discussing but when you look at oracle history as a whole I think it's fairly safe to say creative is head and shoulders above most when it comes to analyzing strengths and predicting how matches go.

Huzzah, Magic win again. 9-8 on the season and 7-2 in last 9 games. Vuc put up an almost triple double (28/10/9) to go with the 30+ in last 2 games before tonight. Gordon also got 31 (24 in 1st half)

Next 5 games look tough though. Raptors, @ Nuggets, @ Lakers, @ Warriors, @ Trail Blazers. Even 1 win out of that would be great

You now have 2 former Steelers CBs so I am not sure how much of an upgrade that is!

Oh yeah. DLC and season passes and the such ruined a lot for me. Like I loved Drakengard 3 and wanted to play the DLC but I'm not paying like $7-8 per DLC content when there's like 5 of them and they are only like 1-2 hours long. I'm not paying more in DLC for far less content than the actual game itself, especially when the engine, characters, enemies and world already exist so it must take way less development time

Also fuck fighting games and their DLC characters. In PS2 and early PS3 ers you would get huge rosters. Now it's bare bones rosters and rest DLC

It's not even about the money, it's the principal. When I can go to the store and but full games for $10-25, I'm not paying $5-10 for like 1-2 characters or 1-2 hours of content for a game I already own

I think the problem I have with modern gaming is that they have to devote a ton of resources to graphics and/or building a massive world. Whereas I personally don't really care about graphics and I'm far more likely to enjoy a game that has a decent story and interesting characters. Obviously it has to actually be playable too.

This is probably why most of the games I've enjoyed in recent years are RPGs or visual novels or even something like Blazblue which may be convoluted but has interesting characters/story.

For me I started enjoying games less from the PS3 era on and I think it's gotten worse. Maybe because I've gotten older or maybe because senseless mobile games filling small holes in time leaves me less likely to play consoles.

Didn't really want to lose McGuire since he was very productive last season (at least for a Steelers CB) but I can't really pay him so I'll take a swing at another CB in the draft and hope they develop

I also wouldn't have matched if anyone actually offered on Gipson but nobody did.

I think a lot of user teams are feeling the crunch salary wise. Like I have 60m cap room but if I re-sign the people I want I only have like ~8m left and still like 5-6 gaps including some of the highest paying positions in the league

Well we beat the Lakers so we are 8-8 and 6-2 in our last 8 games. Vucevic puts up 36 and that is 30+ for him in back to back games. We actually look like a decent team but we'll see if that holds through the brutal road trip after our next 2 home games (Knicks and Raptors).

If we are anywhere close to .500 entering January I'll be thrilled since our second half of the year, especially the end of the season, looks signicantly easier than the first half of the season.

I mean the Cowboys had an attractive RFA so I feel that's unlikely!
