I love how the game really makes you feel like you're developing what the Exile feels and believes. It's not just binary good/bad. You can totally be a good person who also is bitter over the Jedi.

Light side playthroughs in general are satisfying because you need to justify yourself and your actions to others. So it feels all the more satisfying when you succeed.

I know a lot of it is due to some clever writing and dialogue prompts but it really works.

I also love how the game often criticizes you for always taking the light side option, usually in the form of Kreia.

Like yeah, doing good deeds is good and all, but are you actually helping anyone? It's so unlike any other kind of game with a morality system that I've ever seen.

They kick you out of the Minutemen if you take over any settlements though. I agree though it was stupid, i joined the raiders because of how much apathy i had for the Minutemen

I don't think they ever kick you out. The Minutemen in other settlements attack you on sight, but you're still allowed to the finish main quest with them (mainly because the story would be impossible to beat if you managed to turn the other 3 main factions against you, so The Minutemen were setup as the wildcard faction).

It was such a hilarious oversight on Bethesda's part.

I get it, if you play the game and want it to be better that you'd have complaints. I have complaints about the game. Stash limit is a big complaint of mine. Cumbersome camp building is another.

If you've already wrote it off as terrible garbage, tho. I mean, why stick around?

One, because I need a forum to vent about my utter disappointment at this game.

Two, because fanboys keep shilling for this game and telling Bethesda that this kind of product is okay.

I don't see how anybody could look at this game and justify it being $60.

I was maybe considering getting this game so me and my girl could play together, but the game was so bad I couldn't even justify that.

Graphics are graphics, and don't alter my perception of a game, unless they are exceptional... in either direction. Exceptionally amazing, or exceptionally terrible. This is neither. I haven't noticed any unexpected frame rate drops.

I played the game, and within 10 minutes, I saw a water texture that looked like it came straight from an early PS3 game. I'm not even a graphics whore and the graphics stood out to me in a bad way.

And I noticed constant stuttering and jittery movement when I tried to sprint. It looked and felt so bad.

Bugs are meh in a beth game, and will be fixed in time. Since this in an online game, i expect them to fix bugs more fervently. My character is still bugged in fallout 4. My save in new vegas (on ps 3) became bloated, and I could no longer play it.

The problem is that many of these bugs are legacy problems and should have already been fixed ages ago.

I find the story to be interesting and more bleak than ever, which I personally enjoy. There's just this sense of doom in the world. Knowing that nuclear annihilation killed most everyone off, and the remaining survivors began to rebuild ONLY to be killed off again by another calamity, is just gut-wrenching. It's like humanity was dangling by one finger, and then someone just came by and stomped on that finger. I love the sense of dread.

Too bad that, in the game, all it ever amounts to "build more shit, craft more shit".

In screenwriting there is a rule. "Show, don't tell". This entire game is nothing but telling us about more interesting stories. The first portion of the game had me listening to a holotape that legit felt like it went on forever, and it was so boring to listen to that I constantly tuned out.

Then it wouldn't be an online survival game. It'd be a community-driven cooperative game, but the game's design doesn't even allow for proper implementation of that either, so it fails at being either.

I'd say Andromeda after all the patches is a good 7.5/10 for me

I actually really enjoy the combat, most fun i've had combat wise outside of ME3.

I'm not even going to disagree. I honestly never played the original unpatched version, only the version with all the patches. The combat is actually quite fun and the world's are nice to look at, just a shame the story and characters are so ho hum.

Fallout 76 took it a step further and said "We don't feel like writing for good characters or a good story" and just removed them entirely lmao.

Bugs, no dialog wheels, other players existing in the game world, no human NPCs?

All valid complaints... if you weren't expecting them.

- Horrible framerate issues and textures
- Typical Bethesda bugs and glitches, except ten times worse because now it's in an online multiplayer setting
- The story is practically non-existent and told through a bunch of holotapes, which gets annoying really fast
- A survival game without persistent servers, meaning everything you build up instantly disappears when you leave and come back to the game, even though the entire game is built around the premise of rebuilding society.
- Heavy anti-griefing mechanics mean both players have to opt-in for PvP, thus completely ruining the point of an online survival game.
- Quests already have a predictable conclusion because you know that since there's no human NPCs, every character you're told to find on the holotapes is either dead, missing or a feral ghoul

Also, the knowledge of these issues doesn't make them any less bad.
