I was like "Why?!" and they said that the Democrats did it. Can you believe that? The democrats lowered the stocks to make the Republicans look bad for the midterms! That show was years and years ahead of its time. I fucking loved it.

TV: "The Cowering Inferno! The Jay Sherman Story! With Jessica Tandy as the courageous Doris and Sumo Wrestler Tohru Sakai as the cowardly film critic!"
Tohru: "HELP, HELP. I GOT TO GO POTTY!"
Marty: "Did you really say that dad?"
Jay: "I may have uttered the word "potty" but they took it WAY out of context.

Ice cream store guy: "Our freezer is broken! We need somebody to eat 50 gallons of ice cream!"
Marty runs into the Icecream Parlor
Ice cream store guy: "It's Jay Sherman's kid! We're saved!"

Jay: "I know I am not going to win the marathon but I just want to finish>"
Doris: "You'll do fine! Remember this poem. 'Never Quit. Though your heart may pound, and you're short of breath. Well quitting my friend is a fate worse than death!"
Jay: "That's great!"
Doris: "I read it in Smoker's Digest."

Jay: "Hello Vlada. Tonight, I am on a diet!"
Vlada picks up phone and whispers
Vlada: "Tell Vlada Jr. no Harvard"
Jay: "Infact, I may just have a coffee"
Vlada on nearly verge of tears
Vlada: "Pull the plug on mama!"

Jay: Honeyyyy.....Yeah, sugar sugar! Where is my candy bar? I think it was a charleston chewwww..... THERE IT ISSSSSSSSSS. I'M GONNA EAT TONIGHT! *Achem Achemachemachemachemachem!*

5 and 6 are both true if you divide the process up into meiosis I and meiosis II

Thanks for your take. You were the one who helped with my last question before, so you know how big of a pain in the ass this is for me with the way these questions are.

these questions just remind me of a horrible year of anatomy and physiology, my teacher was a big fan of 3+ hour marathon tests with over 600 multiple choice questions done just like this...

Well, took the plunge and got it wrong.

You were right with everything but the diploids making diploids.

Man these questions stress me the fuck out. I actually just got screwed on this one:

OFysnyb

In the end, I got all right but the "First in the sequence of Meiosis"

Why?

Because "Three of the other images correspond to steps in the process of meiosis in this individual."

Number 1 was the answer to the first question. Apparently, Number 1 was the answer to that first stage question too. I was under the impression that since 1 was used already, it wouldn't be used again. Guess what? Attack of the wording yet again.

Man, I am pissed.

The thing is, I like how he teaches. I know I am learning things. I have never, ever been a science person, but I am picking things up because he knows how to do it. However, his online method could use a lot of work. He preached to us on day one that his style is that he's always going through trial and error to make sure the most students understand what is happening..... and I am. I can say that proudly. I just wish these multiple choice things weren't so....... wide-spread with X number of options with X number of attempts. Because between these twelve you see, and the other twelve I just so happened to get right luckily, I have only 6 attempts to get 24 questions correct, without taking into consideration how questions are worded or whatever. Just.... gah.

I feel like it's bullshit because it's vague.

1 is for sure yes.
2 is probably wrong, but it depends what they mean by growth... like physical growth of a body is mitosis but technically sexually reproduction aka meiosis leads to the growth of an individual.
3 is yes.
4 is yes.
5 is no.
6 is yes

Man, you have no idea the shit I deal with with some of these online questions. I just had a question I posted a week or two ago that another poster agreed was vague as Hell. I got super lucky and got it right with his help, but it left us in question because the poster too said that so many facts didn't match up.

Okay, so.

Which of the following are true of meiosis? Check all that apply.

[] One cell dividing into two or more cells is part of the process.
[] Needed for the growth of an individual.
[X] Fibers pull the chromosomes apart.
[X] Is preceded by only one DNA replication step.
[] Produces diploid cells from diploid cells.
[] Makes haploid cells from diploid cells.
[X] Includes two cell division events.
[X] Yields two cells as a final product.
[X] Includes only one cell division event.
[] Produces cells that are genetically different from each other.
[] Produces cells that are genetically identical to the starting cell.
[X] Chromosomes align at the midline of the cell and then separate.

So is this what everyone is agreeing upon?

It's so interesting to see how it works.

Trump gets the Right mad. It works and they vote in droves.

The left gets mad, but due to how splintered the left is (which isn't in itself bad, it's good to have differing opinions and actual debate), it ends up with them debating what the proper move is. People act, but it doesn't always push the left forward.

The right then gets mad that the left is mad, and fucking DOUBLE DOWN on everything Trump spews. It doesn't matter that Trump is a fucking idiot who lies and has no idea WTF he is talking about, they're just like, "THE LEFT WILL EAT US ALIVE! HOLY SHIT JUST DO WHAT TRUMP SAYS!" and it works!

This might be a crass generalization, but it seems like the right just don't give a fuck as long as the "right wins", where-as the left don't have anyone to really unite under due to differences in philosophy and principles of what it means to be "left wing" in the current US political spectrum.

You're close, but the key detail you missed - the right is a bit more willing to settle for "at least this path is closer to what I want, even if it's not quite there". Many of the various left factions insist that their way is the only way.

That certainly has a large impact on how I vote. Im actually very libertarian, but since there are no signs that libertarian candidates are actually going to hold governmental positions any time soon, conservatives are the next best thing. I do a balancing test on what issues are more important and weigh that against character flaws or minor issues that I disagree with.

This is why America needs to dump this system we have and go completely Proportional Representation. Fuck this Democrat/Republican shit. Unless we meet in a middle ground, the country will forever suck and it is up to the people to make sure it remains 50/50. Unfortunately with the nuclear options being taken and the complete division of this country now, I don't see America recovering for a long, long time. This country is so fucked up. SO fucked up.
