Its also not open world and cuts out a bunch of sidequests, if Wikipedia is to be believed. Story is cut down to ten chapters compared to the original games fifteen, though I dont know how the story itself was split across those ten or what may or may not have been cut.

It actually deviates a bit from the traditonal DQ formula. For example, no random battles (you can see enemies on the map)

This was definitely a thing in 9, as well as the 3DS remakes of 7 and 8. I assume 10 also did this, but its a Japan-exclusive MMO so Ive never really looked into it. Thats still the most recent presentations of at least 4!of the last 5 main games (including 11), which makes me think its safe to say theyre keeping it as the new series standard.

Canonically speaking, as previously mentioned, there werent really many tournaments after 2s events. Liu Kang was the victor in both 1 and 2, and I believe canonically was the one to stop Shao Khan and Shinnok in 3 and 4.

Deadly Alliance: Liu Kang and Shao Khan were killed by a team of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi (though Khans death was retconned in the PSP version of Deception) and they succeeded in their plan to resurrect the Dragon King Onaga. This didnt go well for them.

Deception: Raiden, Shang Tsung, and Quan Chi start the game teaming up to try and stop Onaga when they realize what a bad idea resurrecting him was. Raiden then blows himself up in a failed attempt to stop Onaga; he comes back corrupted and turns Liu Kangs rotting corpse into a zombie playable character. I dont remember much about the ending events of Deception beyond Onaga failing to reunite the realms into the original One Being. The story mode takes place before and during the main series, starring new guy Shujinko, who Forrest Gumps his way through MK history while avoiding the actual games, learning special moves from some characters and teaching them to others, all under the guidance of a mysterious voice claiming hes helping save all the worlds. Voice is actually Onaga and the story mode ends about the time Deception proper starts I think?.

Armageddon: Rocks fall, everyone dies. But seriously - this is the Smash Bros. Ultimate of Mortal Kombat. Everyone is here. Pretty much every death across the whole series is either retconned or undone, except for Liu Kang whos still a soulless corpse. Theyre all fighting to be the first to reach the top of a magic pyramid and gain ultimate power, all while former minor character Blaze turns out to be the final boss of the franchise. Canonical end to this is seen in the opening of MK9, where Shao Khan beats the shit out of Raiden so hard he has no choice but to send a message to his past self to try and prevent this future. Story mode is some bullshit about some Edenian wizards kid who wakes up after centuries in stasis and is told his destiny is to save the world from too many powerful fighters putting too much strain on reality. His brother turns out to have woken a few centuries early and went nuts as a result. It doesnt matter though because I doubt well see this version of MKs Armageddon story again (though technically Dagon, the aforementioned crazy brother, and Shujinko, patsy to the Dragon King, should both be out there somewhere doing their thing thanks to the past not being changed far enough back).

Royal Edition is what you want. Includes everything from the season pass plus the Royal Pack.

There is supposed to be a second season of DLC next year but Royal Edition gets you everything important thus far.

I haven't heard this, what makes it impossible?

The challenge is Clear the true Solo All-Star mode within 6 minutes while playing as Jigglypuff. Because DLC characters are added to All-Star as you get them, but the time requirement is not lengthened, it becomes much harder to defeat everyone in time when you add a half-dozen extra characters. Also the challenge cant be skipped by using a golden hammer, which I believe is unique to Jigglypuffs version (there are other characters who have the same challenge but they can be golden hammered if need be).

DBZA Episode 60 is planned for a three-part release. The total runtime for all three parts together will be more than 60 and less than 90 minutes, so essentially the length of a full Dragon Ball movie. Part 1 will premiere simultaneously at San Japan and on twitch.tv/streamfourstar on Friday, August 31st, 2018 at 8:30pm Central.

No announcement about the future of DBZA post-60 will be made until Episode 60 is out in its entirety.

this current job may just say "Bye then" instead of letting me serve the last two weeks I'm offering.

I had this happen once, though it was because Id had a lot of medical issues and was two weeks in the hole on personal time, so if theyd kept me around I wouldnt have gotten paid anyway. Instead they just forgave the time and sent me away.

I stopped hearing about Destiny 2 pretty quickly. Is it very active?

I dont do the high end stuff like Trials or Raids but I never have to wait long for matchmaking on Xbone - certainly not nearly as long as my son does on PC - and theres a hefty-sounding expansion coming out in a couple weeks so that should bring some folks in and/or back.

Though it hits the same day as DQ11 and just before Spider-man so theres some competition for those new/returning players on PS4 which thanks to Sony moneyhat is still the games main platform.
