It's always a gamble nominating TDH songs for topics like these since they do, in many ways, lean pretty heavily on the story across the five Act albums. I think the Moon stands pretty well on its own, and it's one of my favorites besides, so I tend to nominate it pretty often, but I understand that it can seem overwhelming if you're unfamiliar with the band. For the record, without going into the specifics too much, the story of the song is that the protagonist is having an opium-induced hallucination of his younger self and essentially apologizing that he's made so many mistakes in his life and doesn't see a way out of them. It's a really powerful moment because this character has been insufferably (and undeservedly) arrogant throughout the entire story and he's finally been driven to an absolute low point where he's forced to acknowledge what a disaster he's created. The "Awake" portion definitely sounds a little out of place, which is basically because it's meant to get across that the protag is drugged up out of his mind. I feel like I can almost follow the meaning of this song, sorta. Kinda. Then I try to connect the title to the song itself and I'm completely lost again. Yeah, that's Fair to Midland lyrics for ya. Just when you think you have a handle on them, you go back and read a line or two again and decide that you're probably way off track. Short-Haired Tornado isn't even close to my favorite FtM song (that'd easily go to Greener Grass, which I didn't nominate because I was limiting myself to one super long offering) or even one of the best songs off of Arrows and Anchors, but I felt like it was one of the more accessible ones. The small boards combined with the Ally system means that unless you're playing a ten turn game you can pretty easily get to the point where you're moving around literally half the board every turn. It gets to be kind of silly. That, plus how common items are with the Hidden Block and Golden Pipe means you'll be swimming in stars by game's end and it gets to be kind of anticlimactic. The mini games are fantastic (upper tier set for the series for sure) and I'm really glad they went back to the basic core gameplay but if you were on the fence about getting this and/or don't have many local friends to play with I would wait for a price drop before picking it up. --- https://imgur.com/UYamul2 Spurs - Yankees - Eagles - Golden Knights |

Well, when I say start-stop, I don't mean that I got a little bit into the game, stopped, and then picked up where I left off later. When I come back to a game after a while I almost always start over from the beginning, which is what I did with VC. That first try I think I was just bad, yeah, but afterwards I remember I knew what was up with the EXP and everything. Battle rankings being determined solely by turn count, and there's no way to know what the limit is for a certain rank until you've already passed it. And since battle rankings determine EXP (and I think money? It's been a while), you have to get good rankings to avoid turning the game into a grindfest. Often, that entails throwing all semblance of strategy out the window and running through maps like a madman with overpowered Scouts, just hoping that they don't get unlucky enough that they die. If you want to play it like an actual strategy game, you'll have to get used to coming to a screeching halt every couple of missions to grind skirmishes. Those are both bad gameplay loops. (Oh yeah, by the way, the Fighting Spirit Unleashed card quietly looks really really good). One of the first things White was talking about when he came back and joined CHAOS was how it was dumb that Ishii never got a match against Okada after beating him in the G1. They could go with the idea that White got it in Ishii's head that he was being treated unfairly.
