This is all very impressive especially since an effort of this kind is something i would want to do. But it seems it would be highly impractical for my experiences since i regularly use at least 10 different sources for each session. Trying to figure out the precise percentage that could be attributed to each source within a session feels just too arbitrary and in consequence would make the overall project inaccurate and not worth pursuing.

i mean...i know why i was invested. i was a casual saver before last year and got invested because Inviso told me we could probably get Vanille a good placing. and at a time when her best placement was like 30 something, sure it seemed doable. so i stuck around and she far exceeded expectations but i still feel like it was an overperformance. i don't really believe in her "natural strength" and was convinced that a performance like that couldn't be replicated so i was prepared to go out on that.

but then i hear about all of XIII being pushed and figure okay Vanille could probably benefit from that. and obviously since she got 4th the last time and i don't really believe she can get a high placing naturally after this, anything below 3rd will be considered a failure because she's never going to get this chance again. so i started investing. and now it feels like i spent 3 months to get 7th which means nothing to me.

fuck.

maybe under other circumstances i would have been fine with 7th and i don't want it to come off like i'm diminishing the efforts of everyone involved. really it only hurts as much as it does because i legitimately believed she was getting higher than this. hope is the worst.

i can't honestly say i care too much about a XIII victory. i only cared about Vanille at this point. like i'll stick around and save Fang because i appreciate what was done for Vanille because of the XIII thing but i'm indifferent to the rest of the results.

if that's what it would have taken, i could have done it. i wasn't even monitoring the saves after my own so i look at it as my fault because i could have potentially done more.

fuck. i'm still feeling irate.

i guess i'm never getting invested in this contest again. final fantasy is too hard.

if the NRs were the reason that Vanille didn't get that last save i would have definitely gone up to 3 NRs to keep her in but i stepped away for a bit
