The lack of random battles kind of just kills it for me. The Go catching mechanics are fine in Go, but I don't want a console game like that.

I mean...why? Do you really care about random battles? All they do is provide a tiny amount of exp. Which you now get for catching em.

I've not cared about catching em all in about 5 gens now, actually making us catch shit is a good way to mix up the formula

Nobody considered the PSP a hybrid. It was a full-blown handheld. Switch literally has three different clarified modes of play

The PSP had an HDMI output. You could use it as a controller to play games on the big screen. It's every way a "hybrid" that the Switch is.

A screen with buttons is a handheld. Period.

Proof - we're getting next gen pokemon on it. Pokemon would never release main series games on a console.

Visuals and frame rate are better on ps4 and Xbox one for multiplatinum titles pretty much across the board for visually demanding games

That's literally the least important aspect of gaming. What matters is how fun a game is, not how shiny they manage to make a water droplet on a blade of grass
