The father of Corrie McKeague has said his son is "no longer missing" as he claims he knows what happened to him and that he is in the waste disposal system.

The missing airman was 23 years old when he vanished on a night out in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, on September 24 2016.

Police believe he climbed into a waste bin and was taken away by a refuse lorry. He had been stationed at RAF Honington, around 10 miles from Bury St Edmunds.

No trace of him has been found, and police said in March that the investigation was being handed to a cold case squad.

Martin McKeague, Corrie's father, said on Facebook that he knows "what happened to our son", adding: "We are certain he is somewhere in the Suffolk waste disposal system, but his remains are essentially irretrievable."

Mr McKeague wrote that police came to visit the family in Scotland to review the facts of the investigation in detail in October last year and February this year.

The evidence presented to him was "as thorough as it was compelling", he said, and that experts "concluded beyond any doubt that Corrie had ended up in the Suffolk waste disposal system".

"Accepting that conclusion has clearly not been easy for the McKeague family in Scotland, nor anyone else," he wrote.

He said the remaining areas were either "too toxic to search" or "so vast it could take years to do so".

He said there are plans for a memorial for Corrie in the future.

A 48-year-old man with a history of good health and who has spent his life around dogs was forced to have all of his limbs amputated after contracting a rare blood infection that likely came from his own pooch.

Greg Manteufel, of West Bend, Wisc., landed in the emergency room last month with what he thought was the flu, Fox 6 Now reported.

It hit him with a vengeance, Dawn Manteufel, his wife, told the news outlet. Just bruising all over him. Looked like somebody beat him up with a baseball bat.

Subsequent testing revealed that Manteufel had contracted an infection from a bacteria identified as capnocytophaga, which is found in dog saliva. The bacteria can cause severe infections in people with weakened immune systems, and is spread through bites or close contact with infected dogs.

Patients infected with the bacteria may exhibit blisters around the bite wound, redness or swelling, fever, diarrhea, vomiting, headaches and muscle and joint pain. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), symptoms will typically appear within three to five days, but can take up to two weeks to present themselves. Severe infections can be fatal within 72 hours after symptoms appear.

This infection in his blood triggered a very severe response on his body, Dr. Silvia Munoz-Price, an infectious disease specialist, told Fox 6 Now. More than 99 percent of the people that have dogs will never have this issue. Its just chance.

The infection caused Manteufels blood pressure to drop, and the circulation to his limbs decreased, causing those limbs to turn black.

Dawn Manteufel said that within one week, her husbands legs were gone, followed by more surgeries to remove portions of his hands, and then half of both forearms.

Furthermore, all areas of Gregs body and tissue was affected by the bacteria and the sepsis, the [doctors] say his nose will need extensive repairs, which means he will need plastic surgery to rebuild a new healthy nose, a post on the familys GoFundMe page said. Greg is going to need several more surgeries, lots of time and his family by his side to get [through] this life-changing event.

Dawn Manteufel said that they are focused on what her husband has left, rather than what was taken away.

An explosive video shared by a French architecture student shows a man walking up to her outside a Paris cafe and slapping her hard across the face. Marie Laguerre, 22, told French media that the man had been bombarding her with sexually harassing taunts, and he struck her after she told him to shut up.

The unidentified assailant was captured on a CCTV surveillance video. Laguerres head can be seen snapping to the side as she is struck, and stunned diners jump to their feet.

Prosecutors have launched an investigation, but as of Monday the man had not been found, HuffPost France reported.

The astonishing confrontation has triggered angry calls to crack down on street harassers. Legislation was introduced earlier this year allowing on-the-spot fines for such behavior. Its expected to pass next week, The Guardian reported.

The attack occurred as Laguerre was walking home last week and a stranger began to make obscene comments, noises and gestures with sexual connotations, she told Franceinfo TV Sunday.

She told Le Parisien that she got angry, and said, Shut up (ta gueule). I didnt think hed hear, but he did, she added.

The man can be seen on the video at that point angrily striding after Laguerre. She said he was enraged as he flung an ashtray at her, which just missed her head. Then he screamed at her before striking her, Laguerre recounted.

Laguerre, who suffered bruising to her cheek and brow, returned home but soon came back to the cafe to collect witness statements and the video from the cafe owner.

Laguerre said that, since the disturbing confrontation, she has been on edge walking outside. But shes glad she came forward.

Lucina's not bad. She could've been better but ends up being dull and her relevancy in the story sank really quickly, where it was like oh, you're just an extra sword really. Anybody also noticed how she's seemingly sassy and kinda knight in shining armor-esque early on in the story then the moment she's revealed to be the daughteru, she suddenly turns super dull and serious? I remember in the beginning, I was so excited to get to know her, and then I left the game not really giving a shit about her.

Some of her supports are funny, though. Like the ones with her sibling, or the one with Owain where she gives her sword a new name.

Might have something to do with Union issues, because Bailey seems to have left many of her previous roles behind. That, or she's chasing bigger roles now.

Alexis Tipton is considered to be a very good replacement, as she sounds pretty close to Bailey, and has taken over many of Bailey's abandoned roles.

From the sounds of it, it seemed they didn't chase him into the street. They forced him out, but he forced his way back in and got attacked for it.

The stabbing is still overkill... but the baseball bat is far more justified in this case.

The 26-year-old suspect barged into the two-story home on Williamson Avenue near 197th Street in St. Albans at about 2:45 a.m. after knocking on the door, cops said. When the 16-year-old resident opened the door, the criminal tried to push his way in, but the teen forced him out, locked the door and called the cops, police said.

Moments later, the crook again knocked before kicking in the door and making his way inside, authorities said.
