Yea man i'm white but where I grew up, the majority was black. Grew to like them over time.

Also to say though I've always been pro equal rights I used to want nothing to do with black people. Felt we where too culturally different to get along. Then my best friend started throwing parties that where majority black and while some lived up to the negative stereotypes they where the minority. Most where pretty chill. I miss one dude we'd exchange racist jokes back and forth. And despite being very gangsta looking and acting he liked video games and anime and shit like that.

I was just always indifferent to them. They seemed not too different than the rednecks that hate them. They speak a different language and listen to different music but other than that not much. They kept to themselves for the most part only annoying thing was them blaring Mexican music at their many many cookouts. But anyone blaring music annoys me.

Psychology is best learned from experience imo.

Well it's also when you go to a professional, your likely willingly going into details you normally don't discuss. Your being honest (otherwise your wasting time and money) and it requires several sessions.

Armchair psychologists tend to make judgments on brief convos and seeing a few actions out of you

True, most people are more willing to listen to and trust a licensed professional anyway.

It's kills me and makes me wanna slap them when they make assumptions about your past they know nothing about. Just because your behavior fits the profile. I don't think psychology will ever be an exact/perfect science. Everyone is different and will react to circumstances differently than others. Just way too many variables

Regardless, the pro gets to leave with some cash and the client feels like someone cares so it's all good.

I was talking non professionals. I assume a professional that was good would dig as deep as he/she can. Still never perfect but I feel they'd at least know when a client doesn't fall neatly into a typical mold and would still be able to help in some capacity.

People usually eat up mashup/crossover stuff. Marvel vs Capcom was big. Though sticking to DC Injustice is popular. There are flops of course but that comes from either poor pr or just not being that good of a game.

The average gamer is in his/her 30s and most of started with Nintendo.

So a video game crossover/mashup that is directed at probably the biggest demographic of gamers. Yeah it'll get hype.

Nintendo's eShop DLC won't let you buy any DLC you've already purchased for that very reason. But in Nintendo's case, it's actually annoying. For example, if you own a single piece of DLC for Smash Bros, you can't buy the big all-in-one DLC bundle. It'll say "you already own part of this DLC pack" or something like that. It could be a 99 cent DLC, but you still can't buy the bundle. You have to manually buy all of the items individually. <_<

That sounds shitty don't think Xbox did that. Not sure on PS3 haven't bought any bundle dlcs yet on it.

Craziest dlc purchase for me was i already had a digital copy of Skyrim and ended up buying a physical copy because the disc came with all the dlc and was cheaper than buying the dlc itself.

I kind of want to play another game where you can make your own character and your choices can influence the narrative of the story, but I think I already own most of those types of games that I know about, and have played most of them a few too many times to be super-enthusiastic about doing it again.

This is kinda my third time playing Skyrim, although the second time (starting on the ps3) really doesn't count because I quit relatively early.

At any rate, Skyrim is large enough and content-heavy enough that I've forgotten large chunks of the game (although I remember bits and pieces of the larger storylines, including pretty much all of the Dark Brotherhood story). In fact, I can't even recall if I played Imperial or Stormcloak -- although I instinctively assumed I probably went Imperial (although the Stormcloak Rebellion is a shorter -- and ironically less important -- storyline anyway). One of the big things is that I didn't play the DLC stuff the first time around, which is what I had intended to do on the ps3 Legendary edition. The other major thing is the fan mods (and console commands), which I'll probably get more into down the line.

All that aside, the story isn't real the main draw for me. I like the exploration, customization, combat, etc. After I finish the big stuff, I'll go back to just randomly wandering and exploring (especially because one of the turn-offs is not being able to haul much loot in the early game)

My kinda big problem -- and the same thing I hit last time I restarted -- is just the fact that I enjoy a certain playstyle. I had a blast playing as a Khajiit rogue. I didn't want to do the exact same thing, so last time I tried to make a mage but... it wasn't all that fun. This time I was doing more of a generalist but I keep sliding into playing as a rogue because it's absurdly effective and makes the exploration a little more thrilling... and, I hate to say it, but I'm tempted to console command change my character into a Khajiit since I really like the night vision power, the unarmed buff (which iirc helps with werewolf mode), and the general look of the race. Granted, in general I tend to default to the least-human race when playing most RPGs. In Oblivion, I favored Argonians and might have gone the same route this time if their design was better.

If you like unarmed buff of khajhits. Also get steel fist perk. (Heavy armor perk)With that I've punched dragons to death with my orc. A khajhit would probably wreck shit.

I've lost count of my playthroughs of Skyrim. I've at least started a file of every race and some both male and female counter parts.

I can understand the hypothetical. I just dont waste money. Nor do I sell games. So, the hypothetical means that it wouldnt matter if it was sealed or not. Either its sealed and I played. Or unsealed and unplayed. I dont sell my games, so whether its sealed or not wouldnt matter.

Well, no, the point isn't to theorize the likelihood of the scenario happening to you. The point is to explore your preferential end result. You say it doesn't matter either way because you won't ever sell it, but surely there is some price point where you would? What if the sealed game was valuable enough to sell and buy the same game, but used, plus one or two other games?

I've never sold any of my games either, but it's great knowing that I have a ton of valuable ones should I ever need or want to. I remember a few years ago, a guy who previously thought he'd never get rid of his collection finally did for $100k or $200k and bought a house for his new family.

No. Not really. I wouldnt. I always say things like I could sell it for a lot. But Id wimp out and not sell it. For many reasons. Also, like streamofthesky said, I usually open my games to try when get home...

Life becomes better what you stop caring so much about what others think.

No. Not with something like this. Straight people have it easier on this regard. If I was straight, then I would care. I could tell them about who Im seeing and everything would be fine. Being gay changes how people see that. When it comes to friends and things like that, I dont care what people think. I do whatever. Even with being gay. My friends all know. But the military and most of my family dont know because that would just cause more problems. For friends, there are like family. My family knows most of the close ones. So theres no secret there. Being gay isnt something you can just casually lay on them. And it also a discussion I would also rather not have with certain family members...

This is why almost every decent comedian has stopped doing colleges or events run by them.

Because they don't know how to read an audience?

Bill Maher said it best. "You know, when Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld and Larry the Cable Guy say you have a stick up your ass, you dont have to wait for the X-Rays to come back. Thats right: A black, a jew and a redneck walk onto a college campus, and they all cant wait to leave."

I mean, you know there is a problem when Chris Rock won't do colleges

Yeah also has nothing to do with reading a audience Imo. Certain comedians are good at certain types of humor and whoever books them should be aware of this. Iirc Daniel tosh pissed some school off after he was invited to do a commencement/graduation speech and he point blank told the crowd some of them where going to be failures, some would end up in prison and some would die that night in a drunken car wreck. School shoulda known better Tosh's how shtick is to be offensive.

I did go clear out Castlemark finally and completed the Armiger... then I left and got a hunt to go fight the Jabberwock again. -_- So I'll do that once I have the key to open the dungeon doors... wherever the hell that is.

Also, been filling out my Triple Triad deck in FFXIV. I'm very close to completing 300 roulette matches for that card. I have 60-something NPCs defeated. 160-something cards collected. I'm guessing most of the cards I'm missing are from the Gold Saucer and random dungeon drops.

Also, both volumes of Encyclopaedia Eorzea should get here today. :D

Also been playing FF4 Advance at night. That game is good, but that version is very very broken lol. The ATB doesn't work at all. Putting the battle speed to the fastest setting makes the game stupidly easy because the ATB doesn't have a god damn clue who's turn it is. You'll tell Kain to attack, and in the time it takes him to ready his hit, Rydia will just get 3 turns in a row for no fucking reason. Then Cecil gets a turn then Kain will attack lol

Nah, all nicktoons had adult humor hidden in them. Look at Rocko's Modern Life and Rugrats for example.

As a kid watching Rugrats, it was a show about babies and their adventures.
As an adult watching it back again, it's a show about hilariously bad parents.

Ren and Stimpy is the only one that currently has a TV-14 rating though. All the other ones are currently only TV-PG.

Yeah even as a kid I knew Ren and stumpy was more vulgar or whatever where as other cartoons any adult humor went over my head

Try this little experiment in a Gamestop store then. Buy a game that you know you're going to keep anyway, making sure it's a sealed copy. Open it right after you buy it, then tell the cashier you just changed your mind and you no longer want the game. See what they say. I did this just to prove a point the one time during the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube gen.

I was told (and I quote), "Once you open a game it's no longer new, it's used. You can trade it in for store credit."

Yet when the stores employees open it to make a display copy it's still somehow "new"? Fuck that. Opening it makes it USED, whether I open it or they open it.

Target and Best Buy both use those magnetically sealed security cases for their higher priced games to keep the boxes on display with live product inside. For the $19.99 and under ones they typically forgo the security cases. Heck. Even Toys R Us used to have dummy cases with black DVD type cases with printed up 'not for resale/display' artwork in the plastic sleeve on those cases. Before that system they simply had a printed up artwork in a plastic sleeve with a bunch of paper slips that you took to the register to get a SEALED copy of a game.

So if these other retailers can, did and do these sort of things why does Gamestop do it in a way that causes a new copy or copies of games to be opened to make display cases?

Yeah there literally is no difference between that. But the thing is with Gamestop is they don't do it like that anymore. They use to only have one out as a display copy and now they seem to open every single one except for the high ticket games.

When I bought dissidia nt it was sealed. Not what I'd call a high ticket game

Goku vs Frieza actually was 20 episodes though. So really, you're not wrong.

Yeah I don't mind main villains taking longer but that's excessive. I've watched shows that 20 episodes would be damn near a whole season.

It was mostly the recoom fight I noticed they shortened. Not Goku vs recoom but Vegeta Gohan and krillin.

I know the feeling tc. Ex friend of mine almost went down for rape. Guy was a bit creepy and creepy looking to boot but it turned out it was a case of both being drunk and she regretted it the next morning. He probably would have went down if the girls best friend didn't straight up tell the police she was lying her ass off and that she had been with them the whole night (even had been in the room when they had sex apparently)

Same. It's more than just privacy I'm worried about. As stated giving cops the power to harass you whenever they please and also just the sheer inconvenience of it. I've got nothing to hide either but if they feel I do they need to go get a damn warrant or whatever. Though hell I've seen cops come with warrants with made up bullshit. Had a friend who the cops for whatever reason thought he was a drug dealer. They came to his door with a warrant claiming a undercover agent purchased drugs from that location. Only thing they found was his mom had a single pill which she didn't have a prescription for. (She was taking them herself not selling them)

Who wouldn't? What reason would you ever not? If you're not a thief, then you've got nothing to hide, why act like a thief and not let them make sure?

Same thing with police searching cars. I don't get why you wouldn't let them, it's only going to make you seem more suspicious and they're gonna search it anyways, why not just go ahead and prove your innocence?

The cops searching a car is a different story. There are reasons why you wouldn't want to. If they search it and find nothing it's not like they are going to write you a note excusing you being late to work. Also some people highly value their privacy. Unless you have reason to believe I'm doing something wrong go the fuck on. What's next? Letting them search my house cause I have nothing to hide?

I'd let em search my house too, I don't care. I've got absolutely nothing to hide. Go through my computer while you're at it if you so desire.

And if you're being pulled over on the way to work, and they ask to search your car, there's no way you're going away anytime soon no matter what you say. If you say no, they're just gonna wait on the k9 unit or whatever. If they're asking to search your car, there's probably a good reason in their mind, so just letting them get it out of the way would be the quickest.

Good reason my ass. Friend of mine e always had the cops harassing him. He never did anything wrong except walk through a graveyard once which is what started the harassment by them.

Also in a stop if you at least get a traffic ticket you at least have some proof to give your boss. If they had zero reason to stop you but did anyways and naturally find nothing you have nothing to show your boss.

I'm sorry I enjoy having the right to not be harassed whenever a cop just feels like it. Give them that power and trust me some of them will abuse it.

The 2099-verse was still awesome, though. And at least Doom had a good run there, unlike his treatment in Ultimates.

SOME of the 2099 universe was awesome. Some... was not.

I still have all of the number 1 issues somewhere. Ravage 2099 was kind of crap, and mostly just sold on virtue of being the latest character Stan Lee had created (at the time).

And Punisher 2099 was so terrible it sort of came out the other side into being brilliant. Which is why it sort of became memetic in online comic fan circles.

http://static2.cbrimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Punisher-2099-interior-art.jpg

Doom 2099 was an interesting concept, but I don't think it ever really lived up to its potential.

But like some have said with marvel the DC American government is shown to be quite corrupt/shady so it fits.

Ehh, the DC government is rarely all that evil or corrupt, with the minor exceptions of the parts that sponsor stuff like Checkmate or the Suicide Squad.

Marvel's the one where pretty much every branch, department, and secret division is corrupt as hell and probably doing experiments on people or running black ops assassination programs.

In a way, it reflects the nature of the citizens in both universes (something that has actually been brought up in cross-company crossovers). The average human on DC Earth tends to be somewhat idealistic, optimistic, and trusting of most heroes (and willing to give reformed villains a chance to prove themselves), whereas in Marvel the average citizen is a cynical bastard, distrusts everything and everyone, tends towards pessimism, is jaded as fuck about super-hero property damage, and assumes that 90% of heroes are probably secretly bad (doubly so if you're a mutant or Spider-Man).

Or to paraphrase TV Tropes, in the DC universe "Rousseau Was Right", but in Marvel Rousseau was very, very wrong.

So, with the second Captain Marvel trailer out now, and the Avengers 4 trailer supposing to be out Wednesday, I am recognizing that now would be the time to start avoiding the internet if you gave a damn about spoilers.

I think the best time to start avoiding spoilers would have been in the 1970s.

I can probably tell you 90% of the plot of the movie right now, based on knowing Ms. Marvel as a character and knowing who the alien races involved are.

Them allowing luthor to be president shows corruption. Never said evil. And in a graphic novel I have luthor threatened captain atom with a charge of treason followed with you know if I do and the military gets there hands on you they'll cut into your tin can of a body and do all sorts of experiments which implies the military is shady too.

You've had this argument before, and when it gets to the inevitability of inaccurately represented voters and disproportionate power of representation, you do the thing all wrong people do, where they start repeating nonarguments and then ghost the topic.

You are a corn syrup in a plastic pouch with a straw hole.

Didn't know this was a repeat argument for this guy. So not only is he arguing that a smaller number makes Trump more popular, but he's done it several times in multiple topics.

Dude, it's pretty clear he's saying that since we use the ec, many people who live in places that always go one way don't bother to vote because it isn't going to matter, whereas if we actually used pv, people in these places might actually go and vote since it would have an impact, and we can't really determine how that vote would go since we don't use that system. This isn't an argument for or against anything, but it seems pretty clear to me that's what he's saying.

It's not just in states like that either. A lot of people just either don't think their vote matters or just for whatever other reason don't go vote like they are lazy or something. Many many reasons. My brother's gf didn't vote because she's registered in another state and just lollygagged until it was too late to fix that or get a absentee ballot

I've had them ask if I wanted to pre order something but they never pressure me. I say no they say ok I carry on with my day. If you can't handle someone asking you if you want to do something and just being able to say no without becoming a whiny child over it... Well that's just weak and pathetic.

@mooreandrew58

Maybe it was just some of the stores around here then. I'd go in to trade something in and it'd be 10 minutes minimum before I could finish with the transaction as they would begin to rattle off upcoming game names. Of course I later on found out they're given hours based on pre-orders, protection plans and Power Up sub numbers. I believe they also use the surveys to gauge how effective employees are.

It's not 'whining' to want to be left alone to browse and to want a sales transaction to take less time than it would for me to read War & Peace. Mind you the hard sell people were only at one particular store here and that was their old district managers home office and he was a pain with hounding you for them when he worked behind the counter.

The whining comment was in general not towards anyone in particular. I've seen people act like GameStop killed their dog over it.

Yeah my local GameStop just hands out pieces of papers with all upcoming releases on them. And they don't do it often. So when they do I assume management has insisted upon it.

I've had my bad experiences at GameStop but it's rare and can be boiled down to a single shitty employee or shitty manager who makes them do things they know people don't like. Most employees have usually been super friendly. My only gripe is they don't seem to take the answer no I don't have a membership. They'll then ask if I ever had one which I did so then they ask my phone number and yada yada despite it being long expired.

Not a big deal though I can still get in and out of GameStop quicker than I can Walmart to buy a game.

Same with Craigslist. I used to fuck with my friend and get on his Facebook and post status updates all the time. Also people having the right to refuse a search protects people from potential harassment from cops just because the cop doesn't like you and gets a kick out of pissing you off. Among other reasons a cop would harass someone.

Hell my grandmother had one for awhile that would pull her just to flirt. Until she filed a complaint. He had no reason to even pull her. No criminal record to speak of and considering she had a perfect driving record I doubt he caught her doing anything wrong.

If I got to be at least well off financially the shadowrun world seems cool. Not the happiest of places but like the regular world most people get by just fine. But it's got slightly higher tech than what we have now, fantasy races like elves and magic. Set in a world pretty similar to our own. (Actually it is based on this world just slightly in the future and with the shit like magic and elves)

And in that world I wouldn't be so scared of cybernetic enhancments as the video games I played it seemed pretty obvious the government wasn't using shit like that to spy on people. If they where there wouldn't be so many damn criminals with them.
