Don't you think there are people out there who actually enjoy their jobs instead of being miserable every second they spend in it?

I went to school for mechanical engineering, I realized in my second year, the year where you focus on your specific major and take the core classes, that I fucking loved it. I knew without a doubt mechanical engineering was my passion. I felt so fucking accomplished and fulfilled studying that shit and succeeding.

I graduated five years ago, I've been in three jobs, everything you learn in school is thrown into the fucking trash. You're no longer surrounded by hardworking, intelligent peers; you work with ordinary people. The work becomes so dry, monotonous, and soul crushing. Studying to become an automotive engineer? You're probably going to end up designing a fucking gasket or a tire tread in Catia day in and day out. The real world is absolutely miserable, it's where passion goes to die.

Ive seen TCs non troll posts and hes a... ahem, I mean to say hes special. He brings up a valid point that working 50-60hrs blows but at the same time Im not sure what jobs there are that pay a living wage (like not pay check to paycheck and your quality of life isnt shit and slightly better than being homeless) at just 20 hours a week.

Welfare would be great but problem is it doesnt pay enough for rent. It pays enough that you can drink rubbing alcohol and sleep in the streets so its great if youre into that kinda thing, but problem is most people desire a bit more than that and thats often impossible unless you work 40+ hours a week, even at a poverty wage like $12/hr.

It does make sense lol, Ill explain how it works.

Person A says something and looks jaw dropping impressive.
Person B says something and doesnt look very good at all.

Whos advice would you rather take? Would you take diet advice from a fat person? Doubtful lol.

This is how it works here as well.

You can measure how well something works based on the results..... if the same results can be replicated using the same approach... then it is valid from an objective standpoint.

See how that works?

And yeah perphaps. They often had a goal to reach. Its easier to enjoy something when youre getting the results you want.

Just because I don't enjoy lifting doesn't mean I'm doing it wrong. Just because you might enjoy lifting doesn't mean you're doing it right. This literally goes without saying and is super cliche, but we all have things we like and dislike. Not everyone will like bulking, regardless of how it might make them feel afterwards or how they look down the line from the results. All I said was "I absolutely hate lifting. I've done a lot, and I look great, but I f***ing hated every second of it."

Not sure what other topics youve seen but diet is another big one. I don't know if this is particularly directed at me. Like I said, I personally really don't doubt your knowledge in the subject but in this particular case, it has nothing to do with the guy you quoted, like at all.

I didnt make any claim about my physique in that post, it certainly wasnt a har har I look better than you but I made the distinction that Im not a powerlifter although what was stated about boosting your own stats is still applicable.

Regarding the general population thing, I bring it up because the general population is easily impressed and dont know how high the bar goes.

Kinda begs the question though, why would someone do something for so long if they hate every minute of it?

$650 is about average in my area and I make considerably more than $10/hr.

Anyway, I like stretching/warm up but I dont do anything too crazy. Usually just foam roller for my back, stretch my hips and use elastic bands for my rotator cuffs.

Kinda bro science-y but I feel if your muscles are more relaxed you get less knots, less tightness and allows for a more complete range of motion which translates into better results/more gains. Doesnt mean jack if your form is awful to begin with though. Your mileage may vary.

I have a theory that most early-mid 20s people are depressed. It's when life hits you and you can really start fucking up. As a teenager most of us aren't doing anything more than misdemeanor worthy and we don't even think about the risk of addiction if we're doing drugs. We don't have to think about paying our way for most things.

I think thats fairly common. After college graduation friends move, bills pile up, and youre working for shit tier pay for most degrees youd get. Its often with a decent degree you get $35-$50k but youre working for 50-60hrs a week. Literally comes out to $12-$15 an hour lol.

Had some shitty parts in life and some bad days (friends die, dogs die, shit like that).

The worst was probably May 2018 to August 2018 with a spurt of shitty over the last month or so. Company I was employed by went under leaving me to try and make things work by bouncing and doing odd jobs. Got dicked around with multiple interviews and hearing bullshit after bullshit idk if youre qualified kinda of excuses. I applied at multiple banks asking for a HS diploma and theyre doubting my credibility because I have a biomedical sciences degree and they like to act like I cant count quadruple digit numbers or I dont have cash handling skills because being in track of a cash register with ~$1k in it in highschool 6 years ago or holding a few hundred at the door and not stealing any isnt enough cash handling skills. Fuck that

Not gonna do overnight lab work for $12 an hour nor do I really feel like going to med school.

Cant get a shitty McJob with a degree because they know youll leave without 2 weeks notice in order to not risk homelessness. And theyre right.

Got my fucking car stolen and my lender has me on the hook for it, prob gonna have to file bankruptcy as a big fuck you to them ($1k vs $10k, plus I dont own a house nor will I be able to afford one for a good 5-7 years anyway lol. I also dont have shit to take after growing up broke af and putting myself through college so gg). Bought a shitbox to hold me over and my fucking fuel pump went out

I personally only hosted more than 2-3 people a few times in my life. It's so much easier just to do shit at other peoples house and not deal with the stress of being the one entertaining. I try to help others entertain but it doesn't fall on me if it ends up boring >_>. Plus I don't like the whole friends bring friends that I dunno. I got a lot of shit I don't keep track of. My own cousins use to steal from me so Im really paranoid about people stealing. I feel like I got way off track...

Thats shitty as far as cousins stealing from you and friends that dont even ask if they can bring a friend.

If I have people over its usually an activity, whether pregaming before going out, cooking food/bbq during the day or just a meet up spot before cliff jumping or something.

Point is theres an activity so people arent bored. Worst case at least turn the tv on.

Well said. Im sure its a moddable offense so I cant go into detail but theres a good reason that some places have very lax gun laws, regardless of being a red or blue state, and nearly zero homicides a year from guns. States like Texas, and Vermont...

Compared to some states and cities that have a very high amount of homicides despite very strict gun laws, like Chicago, Baltimore and California.

I dont honestly think we have a gun problem, but I cant tell you what problem we do have because it would be against the ToU lol.

Its safe to say that strict gun control does not work. If it does were left with 2 scenarios...

1) these mass shootings are a hoax, because guns arent allowed at schools among other places.

2) show me the bodies. Oh there were actual victims? Well then clearly, these strict gun laws are ineffective, and its a wasted effort because ya know, criminals dont follow the law anyway.

You gotta remember the majority of CE doesnt have jobs so they dont realize a legitimate adult job isnt available by walking across the street.

30mins is fairly normal imo. Not sure why youd consider 4hrs round trip unless you work 20hrs a week and get paid $100k+ but I dont think there are too many jobs like that.

I never understood when people say that competitive Smash players don't know how to use items or their skill would plummet at the sight of an item dropping on the field. If a pro were playing against you (not against another pro) with items on, they'd destroy you even harder and faster. And whenever I explain this, the response is ALWAYS "if they know how to use items so well then why are they banned?" The biggest culprit is explosive boxes/capsules. They can and will spawn randomly in the middle of an attack. You'd never know they spawned and all of a sudden you get blasted back and lose. That's 100% RNG that you cannot control or account for. But in a tournament, when talking about thousands of dollars on the line, any advantage such as an item spawning closer to your opponent is unfair. Sometimes they can dodge it and the item will be useless, sometimes it's literally impossible to avoid and you lose a life. When there is the ability to turn off RNG, of course they will do it. Do you think in pro baseball/football/golf if they could turn off the wind, they wouldn't because the players should just "get gud" and deal with it? No, they'd turn it off in a heartbeat, and it doesn't affect you in any way.

But seriously, I really dont get where the idea that competitive players would be so bad with items on. Just LOL. Theyre still better than you and youd get thrashed even worse with items on.

Speaking of playing casuals, I have plenty of casual friends that have some basic skill (shield grab, know guaranteed combos, an understanding of spacing) and they dont like items nor do they want to play on Corneria or temple. Theyll bitch that they get usmashed and die at 40% on the ships fin, they bitch its impossible to kill someone before 300% on temple, theyll bitch they just took 80% against a wall from dair > shine > repeat and it wouldve been even more bullshit if you didnt fuck up, ya know valid complaints.

But yeah, soccer games get canceled if the rain is too heavy (dangerous conditions with slide tackles) and no one playing American football likes playing in the snow lol. Theyd also prob want to turn off altitude when playing in Denver too lol.

Most people understand this is and think yeah.... playing in the snow sucks. Why wouldnt you want an indoor field with nice turf? Yet smash casuals completely gannot grasp the same concept.

My mom is democrat, my dad is independent but leans towards conservative.

Again, didnt get taught or know much until I was the voting age. When they did talk to me it was basically to not be a dumbass and look into what Im voting for, not just voting yes or no because some bullshit ad on tv/radio said so.

Personally Im independent but prefer more hands off government. If I vote against something its because its stupid or there was a good aspect but plenty of bad that could come with it. Like true or false in school, if any part is wrong its false.
