I agree in a general sense. We have fostered a mentality where it is societally demanded that we believe accusers at face value, no questions asked, and in so doing branding the accused as guilty regardless of evidence or subsequent investigation.

And historical precedent for the rarity of false accusations becomes meaningless once one considers just how much metoo kicked the door open. I sympathize with real victims, really I do. But anyone who believes this newly popularized cudgel wont be abused by shitpeople is living in goddamn candyland.

That said... I've seen and heard more than enough about the Kavanaugh case to believe this one is pretty likely to be legitimate

When someone loses their heart, the lost heart becomes a heartless while the shell left behind becomes a nobody (tbh the names should be reversed, but w/e)

Destroying both a heartless and its corresponding nobody allow the two to recombine into the original self.

Conversely, it's also suggested nobodies are capable of growing new hearts, on their own, too. I guess.

The implication, I guess, is that most of the organization's hearts were nondescript heartless that sora or somebody probably axed along the way.

Because they're more varied. Different heroes, in different places, doing vastly different things, for different reasons. Star wars, meanwhile, has been stuck on the Empire vs Rebellion forever.

If the movies were distributed throughout the timeline better, its be a more apt comparison. Or, hell, if they focused outside that conflict a bit. But if every marvel movie for the next year was just iron man 4, 5, and 6, itd set in.

Theres only so many times you can do "scrappy band of rebels against the empire" before it gets exhausting

Sauron is stupidly overpowered and really was only defeated by luck (and even then, his opponents had to be both OP AND lucky to bring him down)

The premise. Nobody wanted a young han solo movie, without Harrison Ford. Nobody cared.

Tbh we didnt need any info on han solo. We know who he is. The beats of his story are predictable. We know his romance with emilia Clarke wont work because Leia exists. We know he gets the falcon because the OT exists. We know these other smugglers wont stick around because they fucking dont. It's a waste of time.

Tbh, I've always said they should make a lando movie instead. We have less background for him, a lit more room to play around. Give him the adventure, and if you absolutely must, give han a cameo at the end, with lando betting the falcon and rocking st cards, with han taking a seat at the table just before cutting to credits.

Tbh, the water thing I have to understand. The problem is that water areas are, by definition, not diverse. And this isnt just a hoenn problem, it's a pokemon problem.

In pokemon, if you go surfing... you basically get to encounter 4 or 5 pokemon, and maybe their evolved forms. In every body of water. All of them. With maybe a 1% chance at something rarer, or if you stop to fish. And unlike the land areas, theres no type variety. You get your choice of water and half-water. And the trainers you find are packing exactly the same mons. The water areas are literally the only areas that have this problem, outside of early-game forests with bugs, I guess. Theres just so little to mix it up.

Ordinarily, that's not a problem, no different than caves, or something. But when water is 30+% of the map... that gets super repetetive. At that point, it's not an "area," which can get away with dedicated types. Now it's a huge part of the game that, in the simplest terms, is just blue.

If Nintendo could give water a bit more variety, hoenig would be literally perfect.

The biggest problem I have with hoenn is, as much of as joke as it is, how much of it is dominated by water.

So many sea routes. A fair few wetland areas. Rainy areas. You know what, zubat gets a bad rap. Yes, he makes caves annoying. But you know what's worse? No, not tentacool. Wingull. Fucking wingull and peliper, everywhere theres a drop of water. Throughout the whole game. I swear they dominate like half the places you go. Jesus christ.

Also, if I had to nitpick, I guess having so many distinct biomes smushed so close together is a little silly.

Also, you seem to be tackling the wrong question. The question isnt "should mr. 9:59 be served." He should of course be served, and should get the same quality service.

The question is, is mr. 9:59 being rude? And I'm pretty sure that's unquestionable. If you pull up at an empty restaurant, where there arent any guests (or the ones there are clearly nearly out), all the employees are clearly prepping to close, the minutes till shutdown are single digit, and stroll in with a party of 16 being all "rev up those fryers! I bet you all thought you were leaving early LOL" Then you're clearly being a dickbag. Yes, you should still get the sa.e level and quality of service. But you are, at a certain point, knowingly imposing and inconveniencing an establishment just because you technically can.

Which is a pretty asshole thing to do. And yeah, considering employees are people with lives a d not robots, they'll probably wish they could stick pins in your voodoo doll.

I'm not too familiar on why they stopped happening, but wasn't because Gamestop fought it? I don't think the companies cared too much about the gamers.

The announcements all happened very suspiciously close to Microsoft's "always online" xbox 1 announcement.

Very likely that had something to do with it.

The only reason we dont have them any more is because dev's oh so benevolently announced they would stop about 3 days before Microsoft announced the xbox 1 would be a DRM machine. And then they couldnt take it back once Microsoft had to backpedal.

And tbh, considering loot boxes are part of an online service and their games are an unlivable slog without them, to say nothing of the huge DRM resurgence and the fact that so many games may as well be online only... they'll still prolly be unplayable in a few years.

I really dont like this. Investigation nothing, theres nothing they're gonna dig up outside of these three statements, unless the guy's been a repeat offender for decades.

And as much as I would want to see him tank if this is true... without substantial proof, having this be what kills his SC prospects sets a SUPER dangerous precedent. Giving the people the ability to destroy a political opponent with nothing but a word is gonna go all kinds of wrong.

It's mostly used to give police the leeway they need to intervene. If they have reasonable belief a violent crime is in progress, they can enter premises without a warrant. Useful if they need to, say, talk someone down from a ledge.

Not to say it hasnt led to absolutely awful consequences, too. Shooting people for not putting down the gun they have to their own head, for example.
