Billy Joel is correct. In most things, as he has always been.

This is why he is known as the Sage of Long Island.

If she doesn't want to say anything because marriage etc, and you tell the cops, here's the most likely outcome:

1) Cops look into it, ask her, she tells them nothing is wrong.

2) As soon as they're gone, he beats the shit out of her for almost getting him in trouble.

3) She immediately stops telling you anything, because she blames you for talking, and you lose any chance you might have to convince her to act on her own.

Domestic violence is a messy tangle. And to be honest, a message board about video games is probably one of the worst possible places you could be asking for advice.

Track down actual domestic abuse-related websites or organizations that deal with victimized wives on a regular basis and are far more equipped to relate to the psychology and realities of the situation than any of us here, and start asking them for advice.

I'd say that phrase probably describes nearly every artist in nearly every genre.

Talent isn't necessarily a straight "gets better with age" upward scale as much as it's more of a bell curve with an early period where you're learning and growing, then a peak period, and finally a period where you start to decay either due to apathy or complacency or slowing physical and mental ability or just running out of ideas.

Technically, it could fall under advertising, but if you're essentially advertising for THIS site, it probably doesn't count.

Kinda sounds like the plot to Black Panther from Kilmonger's POV too OP.

Black Panther honestly goes back past the notion of monarchy to an even earlier determinant of rule, where heredity was less important than personal strength, and the chief of a tribe only held power so long as he could personally defend it - and thus other members of the tribe could challenge to take his place via single combat. The advent of agriculture and settlements tended to do away with that logic (as nomadic tribes settled, conquered territory, and kings slowly changed from war leaders to rich men who could afford to pay others to fight for them), but it was an accepted concept that humans embraced many times and places in history.

(And at least from the Western perspective, African culture has always been somewhat backward, so those sorts of tribal traditions lasted far longer there than they did in places like Europe or Asia.)

As they even say in the movie, it's an outmoded and dangerous mode of thinking - but it's also tradition, so they'll keep doing it. Especially since they seemingly have no reason to STOP - the normal practice is ceremonial at best, and has apparently never before (at least, that we know of) resulted in someone grossly unsuited to rule taking over the throne. If anything, Killmonger himself is the one of the only Wakandans in history to ever be in a POSITION to be raised outside of Wakanda, find his way back, and potentially challenge for rule without understanding anything about the nation or its people. But by the end of the movie, they're already starting to reconsider the old ways and assumptions.

The entire POINT of Black Panther is basically that people need to find ways to balance tradition with innovation, embracing the worthwhile new while still cherishing the old - to not mindlessly cling to the past, but also not simply abandoning it entirely. T'Challa's rule will likely be the most progressive one the kingdom has ever seen, and any number of old assumptions are likely going to be examined and questioned, and some of them will probably be left behind.

So, just because he is from "royal blood" means he has the knowledge to rule a nation that he has NEVER lived in?

You're acting like this hasn't been the guiding principle of monarchy for thousands of years worth of human history.

There's ALWAYS been a perception that royal blood is more important than pretty much ANYTHING. After all, you can put pretty much any asshole on the throne and surround him with advisors, counselors, or puppetmasters who make all the decisions for him. But what you can't do is take the most gifted commoner and magically give him royal blood, heritage, and the divine right of kings bestowed by whatever higher power you believe in.

England, 1714. Queen Anne, last surviving ruler of the House of Stuart, dies without leaving an heir. The British trace established bloodlines back to the nearest existing descendant of King James I (his great-grandson) who happens to be a middle-aged German-born noble. They immediately whisk him off to England, where he is crowned George I (establishing the House of Hanover) - in spite of the fact that he knows absolutely nothing about Britain, and literally cannot speak English (to the point where the citizens tend to look down on him for being an idiot, and otherwise have very little respect or reverence for him). His son (George II) was also born in Germany and was about 30 years old the first time he ever saw England, and HIS son (George III) is the one we always think of generally doing nothing other than being the king who lost the American colonies and then eventually going insane.

And while the house name changed after Queen Victoria (because royal lines pass through male lines, not female), that same line of kings that started with a German and which contained at least one lunatic, one sex addict, and one borderline Nazi (who almost became king shortly before WWII) is still the bloodline sitting on the throne today.

(Technically speaking, the House should change again once the current Queen Elizabeth's heir inherits, but they actually passed a law in the 1950s specifically to change that, because she wasn't having none of that shit.)

It only feels weird to you because we don't really think that way anymore, and because you didn't grow up in a monarchy.
