I've not done a lot of research into who may or may not run across the DNC field, but yeah, Beto or someone like him, just a decent likeable guy, has an amazing chance of winning the White House. Warren or Clinton (which has to be a joke, right?)... I mean, Trump is hardly a strong candidate so anything is possible, but they are much more beatable.

I think that if it is to remain a legal option for education, then there needs to be heavier regulation and requirements on both curricula and parents.

AMEN. Ive seen five kids in my family homeschooled including my two nieces. In every instance its been a train wreck.

My family is notorious for using Christian teaching materials that specifically target the homeschool market. I read through some of the science worksheets they have to fill out and the basic answer to most of the questions is God did it.

You wonder how someone like Trump can get elected? Its partly because were raising a nation full of morons. Theres no real supervision over homeschoolers. Its basically just filling out worksheets. My cousin stopped doing all her stuff at like 14 and not a single person said a thing. Not even one phone call about her dropping out. The definition of homeschooling should be falling through the cracks.

I think its a state by state thing, so some states are stricter, but there should definitely be some mandated testing that the homeschooled kids have to go to every month or at least every quarter where its proctored by an actual professional and it can be determined if they are actually learning anything.

Public schools are good because they are closest to a real world experience. You are going to meet all kinds of people in life and having a sheltered upbringing isn't going to prepare you for real life.

Not just socialization, but I think actually going to school every day early in the morning is important to get someone used to working when they're an adult. I mean obviously there are a lot of different jobs and a lot of different shifts, but by and large people are going to have to get up early five days a week until they retire. I've seen some homeschool families that are all about, "Well little Billy doesn't do well if he gets up too early, we let him sleep until 11!" And, well, yeah, sure, maybe some people function better later but that isn't the reality they are likely to live with as an adult.

In honesty the three body builder guys.

Before the end of the episode where they just became complete idiots they were really helping Bill to boost his confidence instead of expecting a super depressed person to just exercise on his own. For that short time they were good friends to Bill building him back up into someone he was proud to be instead of ignoring him and letting him just continue to fail, and be miserable.

Granted Bill became a bit of a jerk, but they were treating him, and his new friends like freaks. It was just nice to see Bill improve a bit instead of just being the sad sack. Sadly the show had no real interest in helping Bill, and just went back to sad sack Bill afterwards.

Yeah, I'm hoping if the revival rumors are true that they're allowed to have some character progression. IIRC Fox was really big on them keeping everything the same episode to episode (although I guess towards the end they let Luanne get married and have a kid, but Bobby stayed the same age, Bill would randomly improve himself for an episode then revert next week, etc).

But yeah. I didnt vote for Trump, but most of my friends and family did. Only a small handful are really pro-Trump, but people just disliked President Obama and Hillary that much that they figured he was the lesser of two evils. Seeing how he has governed this far, while his cultists obviously arent going anywhere, I really hope the lesser evil votes see the err of their ways in 2020.

Trump also swung a lot of the blue collar union democrat types that no Republican has made many in-roads with since Reagan. You dont have get Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, etc without winning a lot of them over these days if youre a republican. In my experience many of that voter bloc are pretty... lets say... anti-immigration? And probably not super keen on a female President.

I would assume that's more the exception than the rule, maybe? I dunno, we have a couple weird tiny ones were literally the entire k-12 could fit in one or two rooms, but I went to one that was obviously small compared to public, but had 30 kids per class I think? I dunno, I thought it was a pretty good experience. But then you'll get some Christian private schools that are probably all about weird indoctrination and ones like mine where it was pretty normal except you had "chapel" once a week and maybe 2 or 3 teachers said a quick prayer at the beginning of the class. And I think we took a couple days to go over creationism theories in science class before going on to what you actually would need to know for college.

you probably went to a normal enough school. any of the Christian schools that are decently large seem to result in normal kids. I'm really only talking about those single class room private schools where you have like k-12 in a single class and a teacher who has no idea what they are doing.

Ha. Yeah a couple of my friends started there and ended up transferring to my school at some point, horror stories!

Yeah, I guess family. I feel bad saying it, but after having a human child I am more prone to be annoyed by my dog when I wouldn't really before, though. I don't think he reads GameFAQs, so no one tell him. >_> He's a rescue dog and just has lots of issues that you wouldn't generally have to deal with with most dogs, so it can just be really difficult juggling a baby and a dog that's afraid of uncarpeted floor and will decide he's going to refuse to be indoors for an entire day, regardless of the weather, etc.

Still I like him a lot and definitely am not going to be one of those "have to get rid of my dog because I had a baby!" people. He just feels more like a "pet" whereas the dog I had before him that I grew up with basically was absolutely family/man's best friend.

I don't generally like the idea, but I don't think it should be illegal... this sums up my view pretty well. For whatever reason, I know a lot of people who were homeschooled, and people who are currently homeschooling their children, and really its all over the map. While I don't really see many circumstances where I would consider it the best option, some people seem to do a pretty good job with it. Actually making sure their kid is learning, etc, and getting them involved with team sports which you can enroll in your local public school if you're homeschooled, and homeschool co-op things, and whatever stuff like that, so they're getting a fair amount of social interaction with their peers and actually learning. But then I've also seen homeschooling that is just playing video games all day and mom forging a test once a year or whatever to prove they learned something. Or daily "field trips" to the park to study "earth science" or something.

Honestly though I hate the school district I live in, its definitely not my first option but man I really hope I can send my daughter to the next school over or afford private school. >_>

I'd say very likely Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, and Spiderverse. Probably Far from Home.

If he was going to do one for Dark Phoenix, I'm sure its long in the can, but he's only done a few cameos among all the X-men films so hard to say if it was ever planned to happen or not.

I am hoping they just planned way in advance for the MCU and have a ton but I guess we'll see. You'd think he could just film a bunch of wacky things in front of a green screen one day and they'd have tons of random places they could slip it in. >_>
