A lot of good weapons are found in chests and dropped by bosses.

That said, you can often times benefit from having dupes because each character can end up using 2-4 different weapon types, so there will be times when multiple characters want to have strong weapons of the same type.

Also equipment contributes a lot to the stats of a character so if you are feeling your power drop off against bosses, feel free to go shopping.

I've been playing through it, I'm nearing the end.

Is it as good as the games it is paying homage to? Not really, Atlus is still doing more for genre. But I think it is the best JRPG Square Enix has released in years. (note that I haven't played Dragon Quest XI yet. All in all I think it is a great step forward for Square Enix and I'm glad it has done well in sales.

I have a friend who goes to cons, and I like to troll him about his con-goer friends are like that. They definitely aren't that absurd, but hanging out with that circle of friends through him makes me really think that cosplay is a red flag.

did you read the others? the original trilogy was the Icewind Dale Trilogy and then Dark Elf was a prequel. and there were others too later that were sequels to Icewind Dale but I don't remember their names. I lost track of the series years ago but I used to be obsessed with Drizzt when I was young. I thought he was so cool

I read The Crystal Shard a couple years ago, I started with Homeland and have been reading forward. I know Dark Elf Trilogy was released after the Icewind Dale Trilogy, but in the modern editions and releases Homeland is marketed as Book 1 of Drizzt.

More recently I have been engrossed in The Stormlight Archive and The Horus Heresy for my fiction reading, so I've mostly abandoned Drizzt, but I do plan to return.

Also, Homeland, Exile, Sojourn are really good books. I'm not really into the Forgotten Realms, but I really enjoyed the Dark Elf Trilogy.

Switch has an amazing library, but it is true that five or less of its best games aren't playable elsewhere, would say the same about all consoles these days though, except maybe the 3DS and DS.

It's fun, has a good OST. It peaks at the Grand Magic games then slowly drops off until finally falling off ultra hard in the end.

Even if that mattered at all, he'll lose to Link, a character with no character.

Link may not have dialog, but neither does Mega Man (in most of his iterations). Both still have character in the form of tons of iterations and versions of themselves.

Not saying he won't be bodied by Link if he beats pikachu, because that will definitely happen. I'm just saying a character with a wider variety within their franchise will be more appealing than a character like pikachu who is stagnantly representing the concept of their franchise rather than being a key piece of it.

The FGC is pretty toxic, but it kind of has to be. Hyper competitive, skill based, and entirely one on one? That isn't a recipe for happiness.

I think the communities are worse when it is all those things, except team based. Because in 1v1 you dont have an outlet to blame anyone but yourself, in teams that outlet becomes any teammate, especially in random pairings. Sometimes the person may be right that a team member cost them the games but they dont have to be right for that outlet to be there, and it is often very difficult to tell.

I wish they had dropped a demo of WoL so you could get started on some unlocks. A lot of games have been dropping demos that let you get a little progress under your belt before the full game releases and I've really appreciated that.
