A question for people while we're here: in GOTY discussions, and topics like this, do you tend to think of just a couple genres? It seems more often than not these conversations are focused story-driven, single-player AAA RPGs or action-adventure games, to the exclusion of more multiplayer focused games and genres.

Like, would you ever consider a racing game, or a strategy game, as being potentially the Game of the Year?

my slightly budget gaming laptop has a 60fps standard with games that look way better than the ps4 counterpart. oof. A late gen ps3 game and a ps4 game are barely distinguishable. Let alone they run at the same framerate. I think the only games that really stand out are games where graphics are everything, like nba 2k, and exclusive first person shooters.

Plus this pay to play online stuff has really turned me off from console gaming. I didn't mind it at first, and then i realized how much of an unnecessary expense it was. I shopped around for 2 minutes looking for a witcher 3 deal on PC, got the complete edition for 20 bucks without any kind of special sale ongoing, on ps4 that will go for $60 unless you can find it secondhand used, gameshare it, or they feel like putting it on sale.

I'm just surprised i turned on consoles that quickly seeing as how i was pretty adamant about being console only up until like last week.

There were even articles run about diminishing returns and if PC gaming was the way forward, let alone all the people disappointed that 30fps was still the standard for consoles

I played the Witcher 3 yesterday. Im still getting used to kb and mouse but holy fuck was that game smooth. I dont miss the 30fps console version after playing that. Im considering getting a desktop to futureproof games but now that Ive seen games like gta v and Witcher 3 how they really should be running, I dont want to go back to console yet lol.

I do have an x1 controller for those few games where I just dont want to use a mouse or when Im mobile.

well enough being that i can play games that are "graphically demanding" like gta v, ark, bdo, etc.. at 1080p 60fps or higher. I haven't tried very high settings yet but i know my limits

part of the reason i sold my ps4 and x1 and switch is because i didn't really have anyone to play with. For the last leg of my ps4 career i was legit just playing by myself. No point in doing that.

Why not get a desktop if you already had a macbook pro for mobile computing? A good desktop with a decent monitor and a mechanical keyboard with a gaming mouse would cost as much or just a little more than a gaming laptop.

my macbook pro is basically dead. The battery is swollen and needs to be serviced, so it busted the casing open slightly, and it's from 2012. It runs slow as shit (always getting beach balls, having to be restarted, etc..) so i wanted a new laptop and i didn't want to buy another macbook.

Besides with employee discounts and other dell discounts, i got this laptop for $700, which is like a third of what i would have spent on a new macbook pro and its portable and plays games well enough. I don't really care to play them on max graphics 300fps, just as long as they're playable and don't look like shit.

I'll consider getting a gaming desktop soon if i feel i ever need it, but i'm pretty content right now

at this point yeah, my favorite part is that it's portable, i don't need a tv or anything to play my games, or hell even an outlet. Plus i can play basically any game from the beginning of gaming to this year on one system, outside of the few console exclusives like detroit, spider-man, rdr, etc..

300 bucks plus the loss you took from your old ps4.

i made 200 on it, plus the controller was faulty, so it's either i get a new controller and continue to not play the ps4, or get a whole new ps4. I got it pre owned from gamestop anyway so i only lost around $60 on it, and i played it for months so it was worth it.

I'm fine with eating the $40 or so net loss for a brand new ps4 and controller.

Ended up selling my ps4 2 days ago as well. I had a macbook pro and was basically a console only gamer until my laptop came in, and my laptop outperforms my ps4, and runs circles around my MBP in basically everything. Theres literally no point in me using my Mac anymore because anything it can do, my laptop can do 5x as fast .

i can run gta v in high at 60fps with no drops with graphics mods, i can play bdo in remastered, many other games on high settings, etc.. plus all the sales

I wasn't relaly playing my PS4 anymore anyway and spider-man didn't interest me enough to keep it around. Oh well. Maybe I'll get one again when RDR2 rolls around

the real reason however is that Joker simply makes DC too much money to be killed off. He is one of the most iconic villains of all time so they're going to milk him as long as they can. hold at Fedex location, theres no option under the delivery manager or when I call in, hell when I call in it specifically tells me I can't.

there have been several bigger things running in the paper, like the bloodbath from the shootouts all over the city, the vice desk corruption which everyone seems to know about at that point in the story, etc..

the odds were against Phelps from like the beginning though, they basically swept everything he did under the rug, especially the black dahlia murder and kept trying to get him to do the wrong thing on cases. His "partners" are all on the north side of useless and only serve to irritate Cole. Take a drink every time one of them tries to end the case early and you'll be blackout drunk just an hour or two into the game

Are they sending it via USPS? If so then you will probably not see any tracking activity until the day of arrival. They suck with that.

My monitor came via USPS and I had zero activity then suddenly the day it was supposed to arrive it had all the updated info.

I have no idea. All it says is confirmed. Which I need more than that to go on because I have to be home to sign for it and I work full time
