It's the truth.

That's your opinion. I know a lot of soft core feminist who would strongly object.

This isn't my opinion, there is a ton of data out there to show this.

Cool, give me a link to some valid data. Prove me wrong.

This is a good starting place: http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2014/05/07/opting-out-about-10-of-highly-educated-moms-are-staying-at-home/

A few things to keep in mind:

1. Because women are the ones to physically have a child, they have a larger drive to be a stay-at-home mom, less focus on the career.

2. Women are still trying to gain traction in the working world when prior to certain decades it was unreasonable to have a woman work. One of the few 'good' things to come out WW2 was women getting the workforce more.

3. Women still have a bit of a tough time going after those high-paying jobs compared to men, but it's changing.

From the article...
"About one-in-ten mothers with a Masters degree or more are staying at home in order to care for their family, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of census data. "

That source is only analyzing women with post grad degrees. It doesn't count women who don't have higher education, which is a huge missing piece. It doesn't prove your opinion.

Why did this topic get to 4 pages

Men have no rights to a woman's body, the idea of a man suing a woman because she got an abortion sounds like shit straight out of the 1800s or modern-day India

A man wanting to opt out is different

I'm simply asking what recourse does a man have if he wants to keep his baby when the mother doesn't. I already said that suing was a word I used loosely to try and understand what a man can or can't do and why when he has a relationship with that baby.

I know. And somehow Asherlee keeps saying he doesn't go through the pregnancy so he doesn't have a say. I'm saying both parents go through the pregnancy in different ways, some obvious and tangible and some less obvious and less tangible, but still valid and real.

Because hes still responsible for creating it, what kind of question is this?

There are a lot of questions like this in this topic and I'm just about done entertaining it.

You all are saying he has a role in creating it but then he has nothing to do with it, but he still has to pay for it.

I'm saying that the father has a role during pregnancy. Asherlee seems to not think so, and that's why I asked her that question.

The courts will make a father financially responsible for the child after it's born. The father doesn't carry the baby to term or have to endure an abortion if that is the route chosen.

You don't think a father has any emotional turmoil if they go through this? You'd be wrong there, I assure you.

I never understood why peoples stance on abortion changed in later points or pregnancy

Becasue late term the human is more relatable. It sounds weird, I know. I mean, at 6 months the child can live on its own.

Yeah it's weird how the timing seems to have a correlating relationship with morality.

The father has no role in the question of abortion.

You're basically saying that a father has no role in the baby he made with the mother. He does have a say in it. That's what the the whole OP is about, what recourse does a father have to save a baby he wants when the mother doesn't. If a man makes a baby, he does have at least some right to say that he wants the kid. That is, in part, the father's role in a potential abortion. He has a right to object. He has a right to try and save the baby he made. It's not ultimately his decision, but he does have a say in it at the very least.

Her body, her choice seems to be the only truly fair route when it comes to pregnancy.

Why doesn't anyone ever say "his seed, his kid" in this scenario...? If a guy doesn't want to see his baby aborted, why is that something that should just go on being ignored?

Because the father doesn't go through the pregnancy.

Yet if not for him she wouldn't be pregnant. And you mean he doesn't physically go through the pregnancy by carrying the baby to term and giving birth to the baby. But I think it's a huge error to say that the man doesn't go through the pregnancy. What the hell is he around for then? He gets her pregnant then he goes through it too, maybe not physically, but he has a stake in the deal to say the least.

Do you think a man has a moral consequence if he tells or compels the woman to get an abortion? Her body, her rights, so is a man not responsible whether she does or doesn't get an abortion? If he can't do anything about what she does with her body, does the man bear any moral obligation?

Do you think the male in the relationship should be able to unilaterally force her to give birth

That's a good question. I don't know. That's kind of why I'm asking. It's not fair that if she wants the baby and he doesn't then he has an obligation and is burdened by law and society, but when the situation is turned around and she doesn't want the baby but he does then he has ZERO recourse.
