well technically, he announced at the beginning of the day that it'll be his last day, with no notice. supposedly he's staying to finish up all his half-completed jobs, but so far I've just seen him outside on the phone.

his helper is considering quitting too, since he follows the main guy around like a lost puppy. he's only an okay painter on his own and is still learning, but if he left today we'd be totally fucked until we got someone new in to pick up all the prep and paint work

ah, I remember being that young. feels like a lifetime ago

the best salespeople at the dealership I work at are the ones who apply very little pressure and are honest about a car's features versus the customer's needs. they consistently have the most repeat customers and referrals. the guys who are pushy and like to break out the four square usually don't last long

unfortunately, the real pressure comes from finance. those guys are fucking snakes and will promise you the world as long as you buy an extended warranty. (and us peons in service are left explaining to the customer that something isn't covered)
