I dunno. I don't feel as if there needs to be some grandiose adventure going on behind the scenes. The idea of 8 semi normal people going on their own personal journeys for sometimes selfish reasons is oddly refreshing. It feels like it's circumventing the "chosen ones save the world" trope in a nice way

This. I actually really like that it's just eight people traveling together on their own personal journeys of discovery and self-reflection. Reminds me of D&D parties where everyone has their own goals as well.

like said, it's a whole load of coincidences that on their own can be ignored but together it gets suspect

Yeah. Like...

Fourteen words in the heading
The first four words are the same
Fourteen bullet points
Using 88 as the denominator

Four coincidences? Nahhhhh

Wow. I had the same first reaction, but you're right, too many coincidences.

Ford would consider buying more Mexican-made steel for its factories in Hermosillo and Cuautitlan as long as it met the automaker's quality standards.

https://www.reuters.com/article/steel-mexico-brazil/new-dawn-for-mexican-steel-puts-brazil-in-the-shade-idUSL6N0RJ0ZJ20140923
MEXICO CITY/RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept 23 (Reuters) - Mexico is emerging as the preferred choice for investors in Latin American steel making as a landmark energy reform and exposure to a U.S. recovery help outshine regional rival Brazil, where the gloom of recession has taken hold.

While steel executives in Brazil, Latin Americas biggest economy, call ever more forcefully for market reforms, Mexico has pushed through a major energy overhaul and other reforms which are expected to lure billions of dollars in new investment.

Demand for steel, a building material used in everything from cars to pipelines to skyscrapers, is a bellwether for economic strength, especially in manufacturing.

Steel makers Altos Hornos de Mexico and Ternium are well placed to take advantage of better growth prospects in Mexico, while Gerdau SA is seen as the best Brazil bet, given its strong presence in the United States.

Oh god, I read a synopsis. It sounds fucking awful.

Stronger together. Thats what Marisol tells her daughters, firebrand social justice warrior Melanie Mel Vera, and her sister, fun-loving Maggie, about their family. Mel is a graduate student in the womens studies department her mother heads at Hilltowne University; Maggie is a freshman considering rushing a sorority (to Mels amused dismay) and going on again with her on-again off again boyfriend Brian. But then, a shocking tragedy shatters their world and threatens their sibling bond: Marisol dies in a horrifying accident. Or was it? Three months later, we find Mel unable to accept the official explanation of their mothers death, while Maggie accuses her of being morbidly obsessed. And then, another huge shock shows up at their front door: they have an older sister, brilliant geneticist Macy, whom their mother kept a secret all these years! Macy is new in town and doesnt know a soul (except for Galvin, the cute fellow scientist whos been showing her around). Macy is eager to connect with Mel and Maggie, but Mel cant handle another shock, and shuts her out. With the emotions of all three sisters running high, each of the girls suddenly exhibit impossible new abilities: Mel can freeze time, Maggie starts hearing others thoughts, and Macy has telekinetic powers. But dont worry, theres a perfectly reasonable explanationor so says Harry Greenwood (who as far as they know is the officious new chair of the womens studies department), when he gathers the three sisters together to reveal theyre actually powerful witches, as was their mother. And hes not really a professor, hes their Whitelighter, a witchs advisor and guide! Not only that, but Mel was right: their mothers death was no accident she was murdered by unknown dark forces. Its a lot to take in, but ultimately the sisters accept their new destiny as The Charmed Onesand their new duty to protect humankind from the demons that walk among usone of whom killed their mother. With the Power of Three, they are stronger together even if they have no idea what theyre really up against.

This is verbal diarrhea

Well if Trump gets his way with Iran, Oil prices will skyrocket even more, which would make venezuelan oil more valuable, which would indirectly support the dictatorship there.

Make no mistake, we're dealing with a dictatorship here after Maduro effectively reshaped the government to his favor.

A good chunk of the population left Venezuala and the unfortunate ones who stayed have suffered and will continue to suffer, no one is going to save them.
