I think the OP is wrong. These were the guys who were arrested for burning federal land (which increased the lands value IIRC), not the guys who were involved in the standoff. This arrest triggered the standoff, but these guys didnt ask for any of that.

Yeah I was about to say, people should actually read the statement. The two guys being pardoned have already served most of their 5 year sentences.

So it's not as big of a deal, but still fucking dumb he's pardoning them just to go TAKE THAT OBAMA

At this point, it doesn't really matter what gamergate was about, although honestly it was a mess that could've been easily prevented had someone not decided to go full Streisand Effect.

It's pretty much the boogeyman for Current Year that people go to for easy answers.

I'll say though that people think that it was responsible for Trump getting voted are solely missing the point. It was only a mere symptom of numerous problems bubbling under the surface. Problems that I want to believe that some are realizing but many more have either taken advantage of or covered up for whatever reason. And sadly I fear that at this rate something drastic is gonna happen before people can understand it, and it may be truly irreversible by then.

But that's not really concerning to people who only care about how much money you can profit off of triggering the libs/collecting male tears.

I wonder if it has something to do with the dub airing on DisneyXD, and you know how, erm, particular Disney can be about this sort of thing due to their own history (like us never seeing any release of Songs of the South ever). Though honestly, they could've just edited Ash's face to be not colored, but I guess that wouldn't have been worth the effort.

I have a feeling if they just aired the episode no one would've complained, but I guess they didn't want to risk that sort of thing in Current Year.
