Transwomen having more testosterone because they are biologically male is what gives them an unfair advantage.

Lance, Barry, and Jon cheated by taking steroids, by having more testosterone because they are male is cheating when they are competing in a all female event when they are male. Just cause these transwomen identify as female does not mean they should be able to compete with real girls/women due to the biological advantage they have.

Against other males these two are weak as fuck but against women they do have an advantage.

@gunplagirl

Hormone replacement therapy, even as a teenager they'd still be on enough testosterone blockers that they'd have less t. Or none at all since they could very well have been young enough to get puberty blockers before they got far enough through first puberty.

Only 1 in 4 would ever be able to emulate female testosterone levels. The other 3 in 4 would always be higher.

Hard to come up with a solution that will satisfy everyone, and banning transgenders from gendered sports altogether is not a solution.

Yes it is. People should not have to change the entire way they do everything for less than 1% of the population.

Title IX says "hello there"

Title IX does not apply to transgender students anymore. President Obama issued guidelines that added protections for them, then last year President Trump rescinded them.

https://education.findlaw.com/discrimination-harassment-at-school/title-ix-protections-for-transgender-students.html

"The U.S. Department of Education under the Obama administration issued guidelinesclarifying that Title IX's prohibition against sex-based discrimination extends to claims of discrimination based on gender identity. But in early 2017, those guidelines were recinded by the Trump administration. "

I guess the Gavin Grimm decision totally doesn't matter?

Or are you going to say "wait until it hits the supreme court" knowing that's year(s) off?

Given the current makeup of the court, I want it to go to the Supreme Court tomorrow. You wont like the outcome.

The solution might be to reintegrate the genders within sports. Of course, 50 percent of all people will no longer be able to compete but the fraction of 1 percent who feel they were born in the wrong body will get to participate if they are good enough. In this case, they would not have been. Thats progress, right?

So two boys won in a girls competition, I feel bad for all the real girls who practiced and trained for this. I also wonder if feminists will have anything to say about two males winning instead of actual girls.

This robbed two girls of victory and I doubt some of the parents are happy about this bullshit.

Feminists have been largely silent about the transgender issue... Some men have thought feminists hate men for a long time. Apparently, they have no issue with men who want to be women. This further cements the thoughts of those men.

I'm not trying to burn people, but the fact that the people most likely to bitch about health care fairness are the least likely to actually engage in the brass tacks discussions really grinds my gears. It's really easy to say "everyone deserves health care every time" and then dodge ethical questions regarding overuse and patient responsibility.

The most common response is to toss out the "your health is not your fault" line as if it's universally true, when it most certainly is not.

COPD is an absolutely perfect example of an incredibly expensive chronic illness that is almost always self-inflicted.

Why not just make tobacco companies pay for those people's insurance?

And drug dealers pay the insurance for addicts who are continually readmitted?

And corn farmers for everyone admitted for obesity related illness.

I'm gonna ask this question again

You have a guy with his tenth admit to the hospital for COPD exacerbation. He smokes two packs per day and always fails to get his antibiotics and inhaled bronchodilators filled by the pharmacy. Every hospitalization lasts at least a week and amounts to a $250k per visit medical bill.

Who pays? When is it time to say enough is enough

Because that is the real ethical problem.

It's easy to say "everyone has a right to health care" and then run away with your fingers in your ears when approached with actual ethical problems.

He cant afford the medicine because he spends $15 a day on cigarettes. Hes probably on public insurance at that point and probably doesnt have to pay more than $50 a month on the medicine. At that point its cheaper to open a pharmacy and give him the drugs when he comes into the ER. Its even cheaper to let him live with the decisions he is making in spite of the fact that it doesnt give people the warm fuzzies.

For those people, sure. Let's not.

So then why do you get to decide who's worth saving and who's not? How about everyone just pays their own way, and if they can't it's their own problem?

In the instances I am speaking about, the child would die pretty much every time. Im not making a valid judgment on whether or not that is a good thing as it is above my pay grade. The incidence rate of the condition I mentioned is around 5/100000. My wife had 6 patients in a town of around 5000. The cause is largely young pregnant mothers who refuse to stop smoking, drinking, and doing drugs. Then, they want the public to continue to pay for their bone headed decisions they made while pregnant.

Part of the problem is that a huge amount of healthcare dollars are spent on preventable illness and chronic illness. I can't tell you how many congestive heart failure and COPD patients I have that are constantly being readmitted monthly because they don't take their home meds. This totally milks the system, since they rack up millions in hospital bills, then leave healthy people stuck paying the bills.

There's a lot of bleeding heart healthcare white knights who are totally unwilling to get their hands dirty and make tough calls about things like this.

My wife was a pediatric nurse for a number of years before she got tired of seeing children dying. One of the conditions she specialized in is Gastroschisis. She never saw a kid make it past about 6 or 7. The parents of children with this condition were usually quite bad. The kids always had 24/7/365 nursing care in addition to the thousands of dollars per week spent on the TPN that was killing them while technically keeping them alive so their parents could continue to collect a welfare check.

In some countries, it still is. While I was in grad school, a lot of my more wealthy classmates from India told me that they didnt understand the American system for healthcare. They could go to the physician who after diagnostic testing would offer multiple plans for treatment on the basis of what the patient could afford.

What if you were sick, got a full time job, then applied to get health insurance and they denied you coverage because they know you're going to cost them money.

You're fine with them just going 'go ahead and die, you cost too much for us"?

This is a little disingenuous. You got sick and then you got a job? What were you doing before you got sick? With Cobra and private insurance, it is irresponsible to ever be in a situation where you were not insured.

Lets be real here. The top reasons women dont want to go out with you are your personality and your social intelligence. As a matter of fact, I would guess that if most of you are living a social life, I.E. getting out and living your life each day outside your home, you probably have at least one woman who is attracted to you.

I met my wife on a dating site. Prior to that, I had been been conditioned that I needed to level myself up to be ready for a relationship. I am 64 in height. At the time, I was an avid runner, now a lifter. I hold a PhD in a STEM field. I had a cute dog that I would take with me to the park. I had a job that paid more than twice the average salary for the area. I drove a flashy car. I didnt understand why I wasnt getting the attention of girls.

When I started dating my now wife, she would get jealous when I was interacting with other women, I said what is your problem? She said the other women were flirting with me. I told her she was nuts and that women had been interacting with me this way for my whole life. Apparently, I had been missing out

These days, the only thing Im trying to level up is my emotional IQ. I want to rank up in my career and need to keep bringing up those soft skills. I do this for myself.
