guns are the best means of self defense, the only thing that can put anyone on an even keel and the only thing that eliminates as many unknown factors as possible. and saying your life is at higher risk by owning one can be said about anything. having a knife increases your risk of cutting your self. the more you drive increases the likelihood of getting into a crash. hell placing a table in your home increases the risk of bumping into something and falling on your face. you throw anything into a situation and it automatically increases the likelihood of something. theres 1000 other things people interact with every day in there normal lives that have a higher likelihood of killing them than a fluke gun accident.

much like most things in life, be respectful and knowledgeable of the item and there should never be a problem.

No one today should be blamed for the slavery of black people. I'm not looking for any type of apology or special treatment because of it. However I don't like the fact that people pretend the just because slavery was abolished in the 1800's that black Americans weren't still being treated like dirt. Instead of trying to get an apology from white people, I think we should focus more on improving our underperforming schools and change the way the students are taught. Being in a poor area shouldn't mean a school should have shit funding.

Also we need to find a way to open up opportunities for the citizens living in those areas. Better access to transportation, better jobs, and affordable housing based off what jobs are paying in the area.

If it ever came down to it, I feel our best option would be guerilla warfare, with a lot of techniques borrowed from terrorists actually. IEDs, snipers, etc. The citizens certainly couldn't take the government on in direct warfare. But it is hard to fight against guerilla.

first of all i do not believe that armed citizens would be useless against the govt. if we are meeting them on a battlefield then yea obviously the citizens are fucked, but if you think that law enforcement is going to go door to door to disarm people or round em up and that armed citizens arent going to make this pretty difficult for them, you're nuts.

second of all, law enforcement, the military, etc is all composed of american citizens. so if the US govt tells them to go round up guns, go door to door killing dissenters, etc and they don't agree with that, the govt is going to be losing a whole lot of muscle as there is a revolt.

personally i am all for second amendment rights for this reason. we always pretend stuff like this can't happen until it does happen. dont discredit what people will do to defend their homes and families

Sums it up pretty well. It is naive to think all armed forces and cops would just blindly follow what the government tells them to do. Many would choose to side with the citizens of the United States. Which is actually their job. All enemies foreign and domestic.

But there are some, again emphasis on some, that are able bodied and could get a job, but instead lean on the old times and say they don't have a job because the system is against them.
