Started around 1/2 gain, slowly increased it as I went, but didn't seem to help. The pitch definitely got closer to what I want, but it was pretty flat. Will try the other suggestions regarding mids base and treble. Related question: are there any songs I should try to make sure my knobs and such are actually correct (and that I need a pedal), before I invest in one to find it wasn't the problem? I have an Acoustic brand G20 amp- this one here: http://acousticamplification.com/product/acoustic-g20-guitar-amp-combo/ Basically no matter how I set my knobs I can't get that "electric" sound. It comes out really tinny and hollow sounding. The guitar is perfectly in tune, and the notes are coming out nice and clear (so I don't believe my fretting is the problem), but it sounds... Empty I guess.
