I probably will read the rest. Idk, I just feel like Kelsier was what made the first book so enjoyable. I dont see how the rest can be as good without him. Im going to Books A Million as soon as I get off work tonight. Ill have to decide by then if Im going to continue Mistborn or start something else.

Kelsier's last fight scene though, what a badass

Yes. I was thinking he would have to make some kind of suicidal kamikaze move in order to kill the Inquisitor. I was sure he would defeat it, but I also didn't think he would survive the fight.

I'm not disappointed by the way he did die, though. Absolutely nothing about his death was out of character. Standing tall, smiling, bold, confident, trying to give the people hope. You can destroy his body, but the Survivor's spirit was invincible.

I've loved it. My only complaint is that while all of it has been intriguing, the first 80% of the book was all about setting up their rebellion and forming a plan, and a bit lacking in the action department. I may have liked it better if perhaps the first third of the book was forming the plan, then the next 40-50% would involve execution of that plan (or failing to execute in some bits), then the remainder with this final climax that I'm at now.

But man, the last chapter of part 4, and everything after that has been intense. Can't put it down! I may finish it tonight, even though I'm a snail's pace reader.

Also, I knew Kelsier was going to die. It's just been obvious since the earliest chapters. He's way too awesome of a character. Too much time was spent making him out to be the sovereign savior of his people... plus his relationship with Vin. She's obviously meant to be the main protagonist, and there's no way she could become the hero she needed to be if Kelsier stayed alive. No way he was going to live through the whole thing.

The characters were actually very well-written. Each one was a different kind of archetype. Curly, the guy who is obviously going to grow up to be a serial killer, mass murderer, or attempted dictator is one of my favorites.

Notice how he's also a cynic. He views Eugene as some sort of evil kid that sharpened his pencil too short in some sort of malicious manner, when he probably had no real ill intentions in doing so.

Fixed fast travel, where you can only fast travel from specific places (Far Cry 2, Morrowind, hell I think even Witcher 3 had this) is total garbage. It's better than no fast travel, but seems to largely miss the point.

It was necessary for the intended experience in Morrowind, though. Fast travel was a way to simulate public transportation between colonized regions. When youre out in the Ashlands, youre in your own in a desolated desert.

I dont understand rape culture because i grew up in the exact same culture as everyone else, yet I have never once been even slightly tempted to rape anyone. Rape is an individual person thing exclusive to the biggest scumbags on Earth, not a culture thing.

Damn. I just read reviews for it, and I can understand why. Reminds me of the Dawnguard and Dragonborn DLCs in Skyrim where OP enemies come attack you while your character is still at a low level. These DLCs were meant for someone who had been playing the game for a while, and I feel like they didn't take new saves into consideration.

Its one of the ones Ill be buying today, actually. Good thing Im paying less than $2 for it.

I looked up the expansions on steamprices.com and saw that the lowest price any of them had recently was 50% off. So I went ahead and bought all the deals that were better than that from g2a.com, and I'll wait until the Steam Sale for the rest.

I guess the question I should be asking is, do the expansions ever go on sale for less than 50% off? If not, ill go ahead and buy some of them that I found for like 66% off and definitely The Old Gods for $1.17. Then Ill probably buy the rest in the Steam Summer Sale, assuming they go $50% off.

Definitely wait for a sale. It's not even uncommon for Crusader Kings, so you might not have to wait that long.

One thing I didn't mention is that the $75 that I mentioned above is with deals that I found on g2a.com, and some of those are DIRT cheap (i.e. The Old Gods for $1.17). Idk if the expansions ever go on sale for that cheap, tbh.

Ah well. The Steam Summer Sale is in like 2 weeks. I can at least wait that long to see what kind of deals there are.

Should I spend $75 right now and have access to all of them right off the bat? Or should I enjoy the base game for a little while and maybe wait to see if the price may drop even further, say maybe in the Steam Summer Sale?

If you are usually at work or otherwise up anyway at 3 a.m., then it takes place at whatever hour you are deepest in your sleep.

Every night/day, while you are in the deepest phase of your sleep, you are awakened by your perfect 10/10 girlfriend/wife by a high-pitched scream at the top of her lungs that lasts 10 seconds. Her face is 3 inches away from yours when she does this.

If you try to set your alarm or wake up through some other means in preparation for this moment, she waits until you go back to sleep and are once again in the deepest phase.

You can't sleep with ear muffs or anything.

If you prefer men, then replace perfect girl with perfect guy.

Hm, that's interesting. He did mention in his journal that he would have to ignore his sympathies, and pretend the people were monsters from DOOM. It's odd, because the entire rest of his journal felt very much like the writings of a sociopath.

He was very angry and I believe he viewed himself as more "woke" than everyone else. Dylan was just his suicidal follower. Eric would have committed the shooting without Dylan but not the other way around. Eric didnt hate just jocks or bullies he hated the entire human race and the degeneracy he believed it stood for. Dylan didnt care as long as it was a way out.

Yeah thats pretty much what I got out of it.

Yes, a lot of plans could have worked if they ended up working instead of not working.

I think you're kind of sweeping the issue under the rug. The point is most other school shootings, such as the one done in Parkland, were ONLY planned as school shootings. The kid in Parkland busted up in there with a semi-automatic rifle without much other planning, so it seems. These kids planned for over a year and had all kinds of equipment for the purpose of committing a mass murder on a scale never before seen. There is a different variable here that isn't present in most school shootings.
