no, he wasn't. he admitted that he made that up on the spot during the meeting and had no idea if it was actually true or not (and it's not). nothing during his confession alludes to his comments being facetious in any way. if you disagree, can you point out the parts that make you think that?

I can get around London fairly easily without a nav, but I'd probably have to stop and ask for directions once I get to the general area. For example, I know how to get from my house to, lets say, Kingston, but if yo told me to go to Links Avenue in Kingston I'd have to ask where that was.

My route may not necessarily be the fastest, but I'd be comfortable getting there.

doesn't London have areas of the city that are restricted, like only certain vehicles are allowed on certain roads at certain times or something? or am i confusing it with Paris?

I can navigate about 80% of NYC without GPS. You can throw me anywhere in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx, and I'll find my way around. Staten Island gets tricky outside major roads because I rarely go there. I'm better at most of Long Island than Staten Island.

the grid layout of Manhattan is pretty damn nice. if you can count you can probably figure out how to get where you want to go.

The roads are all curvy and it is easy to lose track what direction you are going, so not really. I know a lot of the major roads well enough, but if dropped into a random section, it can be hard to figure out how to get to one of those.

i pretty much can't get lost within the limits of my city, or even out in the suburbs. i have a good enough sense of direction that i could eventually get to a major highway, but likely not via the most efficient route.

Yeah, but I typically use Google Maps any way because it will tell me if there is a faster route than the way I would normally go.

i drove the 'wrong way' to work for the first three years i lived at my house. one morning i just decided to check and Google gave me a route i never would have thought of.
