say a workplace had 4 staff members working 40 hours each week. if hours were reduced to 32 hours per week you will have potentially have 32 hours worth of work left over which could mean a 5th staff member can be hired so that there would be 5 people working 32 hours.

problem is that most likely at least 1 of those original staff members wouldn't want to lose those hours so this won't work.

on a larger scale this means down the line, other will have to eventually down miss out on work and be unemployed. since you know, a whole businesses goal is to get as much work down as possible with as few people as possible.

I find funny when people are praised as hard workers for working 60 hour weeks at multiple jobs when some of those hours could go to some unemployed person struggling to get work.
this same unemployed person could potentially get by on 20/30 hours of those work hours. yet this said unemployed person is often dismissed as an lazy welfare queen

Not knocking you, but this is something I'll never understand. It's one of the first things I tell new friends and partners just because of how often I tend to lean on others for support. I'm not self diagnosed either, I just do a real bad job with self care, especially whenever I let myself spiral. The best strategy I have as of right now is to just head from one responsibility to the next, which is easier what with being back in school.

it got so bad when I was going through a bad period I broke up with my gf at the time because I didn't want her to find out. I even feel I somewhat shattered my currents gfs perception of me when she found out and feel humiliated that she even knows.

I even feel embarrassed and ashamed when my mom mentions how I'm going with it in my dad's presence. I got mad at her when i needed someone to pick up my meds when I had an operation and couldn't go anywhere cos she sent my dad out to get my meds.

only person I feel somewhat comfortable talking about it to is my boss. I don't know why but there is something about her that makes me feel ok about it.

I often hear people shit on unemployed people "taking muh tax money for nothing" yet have no gripes about the old and disabled who also objectively take "muh tax dollars for nothing". not only that money is spent on them on a much more larger scale with all of their health issue with no real chance of making a return to such an investment.

so yeah objectively speaking, in terms of welfare spending, isn't it better to invest that money on the able bodied unemployed over the sick/old.

that said, I don't care about unemployed or disabled/old getting welfare. if you need it, you need it imo. and tbh id rather keep the lazy ones who take advantage is content with what you get on welfare I'd rather them stick to that shit. they are usually the types who you would white to work with anyways because they are lazy. work is a 10 minute walk away and the bus to the city centre is a 20 minute ride with 10 minute intervals between busses.
